What is popular in your neck of the woods? We live in Michigan way up north near the Wisconsin border. Here's what is going on here:

Little girls (1st/2nd grade) like to wear their dad's t-shirts to school. Yes, it does look as ridiculous as it sounds, but that's what they're all doing.

Printed hoodies are on every teenager. They will not wear anything else.

Tech decks, those little finger skateboards, are huge here. Everyone has a million of them.

Bakugan, which I hear is popular everywhere else, is not popular at all here. We have a ton of that stuff at our Wal-Mart.

American Girl dolls are catching on in the younger grades, even though we don't have a store within 5 hours of here.

Nintendo Wii's are very popular. It seems lots of families have them now. Nintendo DS's are also very popular.

What is popular where you live?????

Cute thread... in Nashville, if I see another pair of UGGS I am going to scream... just kidding - they are cute. I only have a 3 year old DD, so I am not sure of a lot of the trends, I just see UGGS everywhere (paired with skirts or jeans). I actually have a pair of UGG looking boots from like 10 years ago. I wore them to the mall the other day and my husband just laughed:).

Uggs,Printed hoodies on all the kids,Hannah montana, and highschool musical anything, American girl dolls.

Hi! I teach 1st grade in Maryland, near Annapolis:teacher:

I have not seen any kids wearing their dads t-shirts but I have confiscated quite a few of those Tech Deck things....I have quite a stash of them in my desk drawer! :rotfl:

I'm out on Long Island with two teenage nieces and kids of my own. Big things here are
twilight anything (got my niece a twilight pendant for christmas)
vera bradley and coach bags for teen girls
bakugan (huge here for elementary kids)
northface jackets
abercrombie clothes
nintendo ds
wii games
ipods
and of course uggs!

I just got my first uggs this Christmas though, and I have to say, they are comfy! Much better than my fake uggs that I've been wearing!:goodvibes

Ok I am from MA and it seems same trends here too.

Twilight is huge here too. Also Uggs, which I think are so ugly (sorry Ugg wearers). Vera Bradley & Pandora bracelets are big too. Bakugan (no idea what the heck that is). Ipods, wii & DS too

OP here. We don't have Uggs here. What store do they sell those at? I actually don't even know what they look like.

Twilight is popular here too. The books are flying off the shelves.

I am from MA. Bleck Uggs are everywhere. They remind me of something my grandmother would wear.

Also Northface jackets my sister and I remember when they were sold everywhere. I don't know why they are so popular now either. I just don't get it. Good for the Company though.

Bakugan is popular with the kids around here to.

My 2nd and 4th graders don't seem to have any trends to follow. I just remember that when I was in Kindergarten, it was popular to put some beads on a safety pin ("friendship beads") and pin it to your shirt or shoelaces. So I went home to my mom's button jar and came to school the next day covered in pins, beads, and buttons. I was so cool! Everyone was duly impressed.

DD10 wears hoodies all the time but she also loves overalls and I think she's alone in that trend!

I teach high school and I think the 80's/early 90's are back. The girls are wearing TIGHT skinny jeans. Girls of all shapes and sizes are wearing SHORT sweaters as dresses with tights. I am short and pear shaped. I finally have found pants that elongate me (boot leg) and now everyone is going back to a tapered leg. I just can't do it.

There's some lolita and decora appearing at the malls here. DD seems to have this thing about dangly stuff on her backpack - like from the coin machines. The kids will trade them back and forth.
