OT ~ Today's Scan

Literally just come out of the scan. Babies blood flow in his brain seems to be ok, coupled with the fact that Ellie's anti D is at 4 indicates that everything is ok at the moment. Ellie needs to be scanned again in two weeks. This is a big relief!

However they have now discovered that babies bowell is slightly dialated, this means that we now have to wait two weeks for results of blood to come back to see if this is Cystic Fybrosis.

So a bit of a mixed bag!!

Glad that blood flow etc is all OK and fingers crossed for the blood tests to all come back fine for you. Dilated bowel loops are fairly common, it's just that it is often an early sign of CF.

glad everything is ok

my sil is @31 weeks and her waters broke a few days ago

shes been in hospital , and theyve been giving her injections etc , and has to go to the hospital daily to be checked over

Great news about the blood flow. You must be relieved. It's good to know they are being thorough with Ellie. I welcomed all the extra scans I had with my babies - it gave me peace of mind to know I was being closely monitored.

Did you check if Junior was a little Mickey or Minnie?

john - bit late on this!!!!!!!!!
sounds like good news all round on the scan!!
now, on the bowel bit - that is fairly common, we had bowel probs picked up with ds1 - his bowel was echogenic (showing completely solid - like bones do) and it was at the highest level possible - indicating that there was sumthin major going on - we had to have all the cf tests, along with lots of others..... needless to say, he is now 5 and perfectly fine (although still prone to strops and tantrums )

there does seem to be alot of cases where bowels/kidneys/bladders show dilation or other 'abnormalities' and these babies are 99% lil boys - so not sure on the link, but i know it is very common, and havin looked into all this for 5+ yrs now, i have NEVER come across anyone who has emailed for help re this that has had a prob - all babies have been born healthy.

hope that helps re-assure u a lil, and tell ellie to keep positive and KEEP RESTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the update and pleased to hear that things are going well for Ellie and your little guy. Not heard of the bowel problem before but seems as though plenty of folks on here know what they are talking about, wishing you all the very best on these results as well.
