OT: Tips and tricks with Blog software needed

No, I'm not doing a blog.

NC Beast's oldest brother is setting out to travel for awhile and he is starting to blog. He is asking for tips and tricks for the Wordpress Blogging software.

I can't wait to see his adventures unfold and the pictures of the various states and countries.

Wordpress is a bit finicky. We use it for the DIS blog.

One thing about it that irritates the snot out of me is that when you go to add photos or stuff, it takes you up to the very beginning of your blog entry. Also, last week I had trouble using photo captions. It's not intuitive.

Also, photos should be uploaded in medium size. I set my Windows Live Gallery to resize them to a custom size of 565 width so they fit perfectly - thanks Will.

I would also suggest typing it out first in Word and saving it. WordPress can be quirky. If you go to copy and paste take it into Notepad or Wordpad first or the formatting will be weird.

Also if you want people to leave comments you can't check the box for that in IE8. But you can do it in Firefox.
