OT- SYTYCD 2008 Tour

Has anyone been to the SYTYCD Tour before in Toronto or Detroit?

If so, my questions are about seating:

Where are the best seats (especially Detroit)?
Does the floor seating really mean standing, or are there seats?

If I don't go floor, which section (side or straight back) would you suggest for best viewing?

There are chairs on the floor and people stayed seated. I saw it at a smaller venue last year and it was awesome. I cannot imagine seeing it at anythinig higher than the 100 levels, though. It's dance-not a hockey game! Front tix in the 100s level is farther from the stage than the sides. We had front last time and I actually thought I would have rather had one of the sides right near the stage. Ticketmaster has seating charts for both set-ups. I, too, will be trying for tix to either one (it's the same week we go to Disney so I'm hoping for Toronto, otherwise I'll be driving to Detroit twice in one week!). I have heard from those who went to Detroit that they sold "VIP" tickets and only people with those tickets go to do the meet and greet. In other cities, if you wait outside by the tour buses, they come out and sign autographs. If you go bring lots of cash: the souvenirs are very expensive!

I saw it in Toronto last year, we had seats in the 100's, on the side, second section from the stage. I agree, if you are not getting floor seats that are in the front half, the side is the next best place. I imagine it would be harder to see from the back of the floor, especially because the seats are not tiered.

FYI, the Toronto tickets sold out in 5 min last year. We were the second people in line and could not get floor seats, but the girl ahead of us did. If you are getting a small number of seats you will have a better chance of getting good seats, we had a group of 6 so the selection was a bit more limited. I would try in person at a Ticketmaster, because the website can get bogged down and you could miss out in seats altogether, or end up with seats in the 300's.

Thanks so much for the advice!! I'm one of those people that if I can't get a decent seat, I'd rather not go, so I wanted to prepare myself for quick action when tickets open up.

Just an FYI: presale tickets did not go as fast as they did last year. Just for curiosity's sake, I tried at 5pm and was offered 307, row 4. I didn't take them because it's dance, not hockey and I think the highest I'm willing to sit is the 100s. There is presale for Detroit tomorrow (same time as TO tix go on sale). Don't know if the code for presale will be the same there, but for Toronto the presale codes were :"Nigel" and "soyou".

last year we drove down to Rochester and it worked out fantastic because it was a small venue. We had some of the worst seats in the house and they were about the equivalent of 5 rows back in the 100s at the ACC. Alas, no Rochester on the tour this year

Oh, and if you really want to see it, people are already selling tix on ebay. Of course, they start at about 3-4x the face value.

Got my floor seats this morning!! Yay!!!

Well, tried to get tickets this morning and nothing available.

That just sucks - how do they go so fast and do people actually use them or will we see them on ebay in a few days?

They were on ebay already yesterday from the presale. I refreshed the site until it let me in (right at 10), it gave me seats in 320 and when I went back to try again (10:01) they were all gone. That's craziness. They should have two shows in Toronto or one at Copps.

Chasbos, I emailed you the preasle Detroit code. Don't know whether you are close enough to go to Detroit. We're in the London area so it's only a little further than Toronto.

We got tickets in Tampa. I don't know our seats because dh got them, but I do know they are on the floor.

He said it was a presale and that they were going quick. He also said they are already on ebay.

Last year we went to the SYTYCD tour in Syracuse and it was FANTASTIC!! The venue wasn't even sold out, which is probably why they aren't going back to Syracuse

I can't believe how fast the tickets went for Toronto, I didn't know tickets were on sale the day before for Toronto, so I didn't get any Called and got New Hampshire tickets today, its going to be a long drive but DH and I are HUGE Fans!!!

Who are your favorites???
