OT: Sunscreens

I always use Coopertone SPF 50 or higher as it is oily free and I can use it on my face as well as my body. Never had any issues or got a sun burn while using it.

FYI: I am very fair, always have to use the lightest shade of foundation available.

I think the point is that these sunscreens do not contain the same harmful chemicals and carcinogens that the more mainstream sunscreens are rumoured to have as the list appears to contain mostly mineral products.

Try your local health food store. That and online were the only places I had any luck with:)

I use shiseido ultra sun lotion (SPF 50)

My boyfriend is using Neutrogena pure&free sensitive (SPF 50)

The other one I like for winter here is the Burt's Bees one. (SPF 30)

A nice spot to get all natural and organic sunscreens is at Nayla Natural Care. Google them. I can't post their link because my post count is not high enough yet :)

It's an online only store and everything they carry is on the safe list. If you don't like online, I suggest checking out your health food store.

DD (12) is extremely fair -- and she burns very easily (on Friday they had their schools sports day, she was using SPF 60 and still "pinked out" between 9 am and 11 am!!!

We will need something that can last through swimming sweating and the Southern sun --

(the kids are half greek half irish -- my son is very dark and doesn't burn at all -- she is pale as snow and passing a lightbulb turns her pink )

Seems like most of the Baby sunscreens have the least amount of harmful stuff in them. I have seen some of those brands in Shoppers Drug mart & London Drugs.
I usually use Kinsys (a 5 rating on that web site) or the Hawaiian Tropic non oily spray. I hate the feeling of the sticky goopy sunscreens.
