OT:St Louis for couples

My dh and I got a good flight to St Louis and so we are going there for the weekend for our 15th anniversary (no kids.) I have not been there so I was wondering if anyone could tell me what romantic things (such as restaurants, etc.) St Louis offers for couples on a budget and also what touristy/non-touristy places we should visit while there. We are really not interested in going to the zoo. Thanks for everyone's help!
Hi everyone - we're back! We had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect! Here's some highlights of what we did - we shopped at St Louis Mills and the Chesterfield Mall. We found some wonderful bargains for our dds at Children's Place. We also went to the History Museum and the botanical garden. It was huge there and so gorgeous and romantic. We could have stayed all day there! On our last day, we went up into the Arch, saw the Louis and Clark movie and went to the museum. We were really impressed with the movie and the museum too. We ate at Crown Candy Kitchen. The chocolate was to die for and my husband loved his Butterscotch malt. The Drury Inn Chesterfield was beautiful and the people who worked there so friendly. Because it was our anniversary weekend, the hotel upgraded us to a king suite on the top floor. We had a wonderful time and appreciate so much everyone's input. You helped make this a very special trip!!

Welcome back, and I'm so glad you had a great time!!! I was the one who suggested Chesterfield Drury (I hope it wasn't too far out of the way for you!) and glad you liked it and they took good care of you. We actually just went the weekend before last, and we're always impressed with them.

Did you have any trouble navigating around the I-64 construction?

Crown Candy Kitchen! That is such a cool place. We've only been there once, but it was well worth it.

St. Louis is such a great city.....

Glad you had a wonderful stay. Don'tcha just love Crown Candy Kitchen....it's my son's favorite place ever in St. Louis. I love the Botanical Garden this time of year...well actually, any time of year!

Come visit us again. I'm sure there's still lots for you to do here.

Yes, we felt like we could have stayed there several more days! CCK was delicious!! I had a turkey sandwich and it was so fresh.

We didn't have any trouble with the construction but that's because my dh is great with directions. If it would have been me, I would have been constantly lost. We didn't feel the hotel was way out of the way. We loved the breakfasts and snacks too!

So glad you're back and had a great trip! Sounds like you packed a lot of good stuff into the weekend - and I'm so jealous you got to see the Niki exhibit at the Botanical Garden - it's on our 'to do' list!
