I just wanted to share what happened to me last night, there are good people out there! I went to Eckard last night and bought quite a bit so I took a shopping cart out to my van and loaded everything into it, well, everything EXCEPT my purse. I drove all the way home (about 20 minutes) and then realized it was missing when I got home so dh and I unloaded the groceries real quick (I had refridge. stuff) and then I drove back. It wasn't in the cart, but the cart was still there so I went back into the store and the cashier said "Oh, I remember you, did you lose your purse?" and asked what color it was and handed it to me!! I almost cried! DH just got paid yesterday and my bank card was in there. Someone had turned it in and left everything in it. :cloud9:

BTW, Eckard has princess and Pooh chapstick and Mickey, Pooh, and Eeyore teethers. And the Christmas Disney pieces were 19.99, marked down from 29.99. :D

Oh yeah, that is definately christmas magic. Thank god for honest people. Good for you!!

We were also surprised last week by a kind act. We were attending the "Fantasy of Trees" which is a fundraiser for the local children's hospital. Wonderful trees and other decorations along with shops and kids activities.

DS16 had worn a very expensive leather jacket that a friend of ours had passed along to him, almost unworn. DS loves the jacket and wore it all last winter. All of the jackets were on the back of DS5's wheelchair. Halfway through the evening I realized that the leather jacket was not there.

This definitely put a damper on our fun for the evening. We really thought if it had fallen we would have noticed and suspected that someone had taken advantage of our inattention at some point and just "lifted" it. DS went immediately to lost and found and filed a report while all of us searched everywhere. No luck at all.

Imagine our surprise about half an hour after we got home when we got a call that the jacket had been found. What a relief!

It is always so nice to hear about people being kind an honest. I work in a field that I see people not so at their best (Juvenile Probation Officer). Most of these kids that I work with have no chance because their parents are also involved in the "system". They wouldn't give it a second thought to "lift" someones purse or jacket. It gets pretty depressing at times! I don't see enough of the good. :flower1: :flower: :grouphug: :flower1:

So, thank you for sharing your stories of people showing kindness....it brightens my (sometimes) dark days!! :flower1: :flower: :grouphug: :flower1:

I know this is a story which is 2 years old, but it still warms my heart.

I was buying my boys their first game system, a PS2, and was nervous about all the attachments, loading it into the car, and where I would hide it so that Santa could do his magic. Of course, I was distracted and left my purse in the shopping cart in the Toys R Us parking lot. I got home, 15 min. away, before I realized what had happened. I called and someone had turned my purse in, fully intact (of course, my life was in that purse!)! Even the customer rep at the store was delighted and surprised.

"May God bless us, every one!"

Must be something about purses and shopping carts. I just did the same thing the week of Thanksgiving. I was hurrying to get home to cook dinner for my daughter's birthday. As I left the store, I went to put the cart away, and a car came screeching around the corner and I jumped and pushed the cart into the rack to get out of the way. Well, in the excitement, I left my purse in the child seat of the cart, outside in the parking lot, while I drove halfway through town. When I realized I didn't have my purse, I raced back to the store (15 minutes later), remembering a group of homeless men sitting outside the store, and expecting the worst. I pulled into the lot, and there it sat, in the cart out in the middle of the parking lot! I was so thankful!

I don't recommend leaving your purse out like that, but it sure was nice to know that nobody took advantage of a real opportunity.

I can definitely relate. My family and I had gone on a weekend trip to Pennsylvania. On the way home we stopped at a restaurant to eat. I somehow managed to drop my purse in the parking lot on the way to our car and didn't notice it on the entire 2 hour drive home.

It actually made me feel sick when I realized it was gone. Well my DH found the restaurant receipt and called them. Sure enough, some wonderful citizen had found my purse and turned it in. We had to make the 2 hour drive back up there, then home again, but everything was still in my purse - money, credit cards, everything!
