OT-So, how much snow are you getting?

It's snowing like crazy here in CNY!!! We have had quite a mild winter so far but this storm is not going to go away without leaving 8-12" before it's over!!! YUCK!!!!

:bored: We are in blizzard conditions now and it started snowing at 12 noon. Predictions are 12-24" for our part of the state!!!!! Stuck in the house with lots of food and 3 kiddos...DH is at work until tomorrow a.m., but may not be let go at shift end due to co-workers not being able to drive in to work...Yeah! Another day of "drag out the craft activities and DVD's" for the kids!! Oh, well, New England life, that's how it goes...Just keeping Disney in May on my mind to keep me going! :flower1:

We had about two feet of the white stuff a couple of weeks ago (unusual for us) and were expecting another few inches last night. It did not appear but the wind is blowing up the dry snow that we did get and we have near white out conditions. I saw cars off the road coming home and it was not really slick, just could not see and they did not slow down.

I wish you all well who are getting dumped on and I hope this winter is a short one. Brrrrrr!!

Slightly Goofy

The snow started here around noon yesterday and stopped last night before we went to bed. I would say we got around 6 inches.
Can't wait for our trip in May. :Pinkbounc

8" down officially on the news at 6....more to come later!

Here is SW Michigan we have about 12 inches, in addition to blowing and drifting. I opened my front door and there is a waist high snow drift!!!

Suppose to get 12-18...NW Philly burbs..have about 6-8. Should make it interesting for the game tomorrow. Especially if the winds hit 40 mph like they are saying!

Blizzard conditions here, 12-24 inches expected. Oh how I wish
I was in Disney right now!

every time I check the forcast they up the amount expected. It's now standing at 20-30 inches, with possibility of up to 36 inches locally.

Same here. Ugh. We can't find anyone to plow driveways in my area. I have to shovel my driveway and my 2 elderly neighbor's driveways. I already need a nap just thinking about it. Can't wait till 2/12 and Disney! :earboy2:

Could get up to 30 or more inches here on Cape Cod. Started snowing around 5:00 pm, so not too bad just yet. Wicked wind coming our way towards morning, though. Could mean no power and a day (or more) huddled in front of the fireplace. Oh, well. Could be worse, I suppose. At least we're thinking of warmer climates....and Mickey!!!Wish I was in Disney now!

Elaine,

It's a "Small World." I live in Sandwich on Cape Cod! It's nice to have a fireplace. We have a fireplace/woodstove. It makes storms a lot better when you don't have to worry about no heat if you lose power! What ever happened to it never snowing on Cape anyway?

We are metric here in Canada.....15 cm - anyways I live about an hour west of Niagara Falls so we don't really get the lake effect snow that Buffalo/ Niagara and Erie gets. But it is beautiful and we are safe and warm so I love it. The kids are in their sleeping bags in front of the fireplace just in case the hydro goes out and they are soooo excited. Of course, we only have 5 weeks until Disney so that is keeping us warm too! I hope everyone is safe and warm and has lots of food and water stocked up.

Teresa :D

Well our local news says we officially got 12.4 inches..on top of about 4 or so that were already here AND lots of blowing and high drifts..roads are still horrible~

I'm here in Southern Maine and we're looking to get up to 15", it is now 4 degrees w/o the wind chill factor, and our trip outta here is in 6 days!!!! I always say that our trip to Disney is just when we are all cold to the bone and ready to thaw out for a bit! :teeth:

Our local news just reported Philly getting 10.5 inches. They're still saying we may get some more overnight.
Just finished my hot chocolate (to warm me up after 1 1/2 hours of shovelling and cleaning off the cars).

Think I'll play it safe and take SEPTA to the game tomorrow.

GO EAGLES!!!!! :jumping2:

Amii,
Hello, neighbor! We live in Centerville, next door to Hyannis. Moved here July 1998. Our first "snowless" Cape Cod winter resulted in 2 back to back storms in one week....and over 3 feet of snow! I'm originally from western Massachusetts, so this weather feels like home!

I'm supposed to fly out to vegas tommorrow morning.. I've never flown with snow before, and am a little worried. I'm meeting someone who is flying out of Newark, NJ ... she was able to change her flight to today without penalty. So far, I haven't been able to get through to the airline to try the same.

crossing my fingers and reading the dis to keep my mind off it

My brother was scheduled to fly back home to NC Sun at 6 am. His flight was canceled and he was able to re-schedule w/o fees.

Check here for info regarding airlines serving the east coast.

Here in vermont it depends on what report you listen to. Some say we might get a flurry while others say 6" - 10". I'm an avid snowmobiler (and we've had no snow yet). We are looking forward to a long ride soon. It did start snowing here around 4 pm and we had about 2" at 9pm so it is coming, but not very fast.

Lastest forecast is for 30+ inches of snow by Sunday afternoon (Cape Ann, Massachusetts.)

Boy, would I rather be sitting at the HRH pool right now!!! :cloud9:
