I am planning to take the kids (ages 3 & 5.5) to sesame place tomorrow by myself. We've never been. Any advice for me?

I'm planning to bring a small stroller for our stuff, although I'll try to take as little as possible.

I'm not sure what we should bring, what we should wear, if you can take water in with you, etc. Basically, I know nothing about this place and it's scaring me!

Help?! TIA

HI! We went last year with DD, who was 2 1/2 at the time.

I think we pretty much wore our swimming suits all day long and just had shorts and tees to throw on over top. There are bathrooms with shower/changing stalls, but they didn't look too clean to me!

It is mostly a water park with stuff for all ages. There are a few small rides but not too many, and we didn't check them out as DD was not interested in them.

There are also several shows......an indoor (a/c!) one of Elmo's World and some outdoor ones. Lots of character sightings. AT the end of the day (may do it several times a day not sure, we saw it at the end of the day) is a great parade with music and all of the characters.

There website might have more on the drink policy. I am pretty sure I saw people with coolers of food, even though they were not supposed to. We just had a cooler of food out in the car and went out there for lunch, but then ate dinner in the park.

Be aware of their rain policy. Something like if it rains and hour or so you get a refund. When we went, it rained an hour in the morning, we waiting it out and had a beautiful rest of the day. But people who were with us stopped at customer service on the way out, and even though they spent the entire day, since it had rained earlier, they got free passes to come again!

HTH - have a great time!

You'll have a blast! When my DDs were younger we went once or twice a year.

First of all - put your bathing suit on at home - that way you won't have to change there, then when you're ready to go home just change into street clothes. We usually went to the pools on the right side of the park as you come in since they are ankle deep.

Elmo's World show is a must. The last time we were there my DDs were chosen to be part of the show and they are still talking about 3 years later! You may not be able to ride some of the rides since your youngest may not be able to go on them but I'm sure they'll love just hanging out at the little pools.

Oh! check the parade times when you go in that's another must watch - it's really cute and not very long.

You can bring your own water and snacks since the food is typical amusement park food costwise. I always froze a couple of water bottles and by the time I needed them they were the perfect temperature and they also keep the other snacks (usually carrots & mozzarella sticks) cold.

Have a great time! My DDs (now 8 & 6) are asking to go this year so I'll probably go in a couple of weeks.

Thank you. I hope I'll be ok.

DD is pretty tall. I think she was 36" in april and seems to grow every day. But she's not 42 yet.

Are there rides/shows that require dry clothing? the suit I want to wear has a skirt and I don't think I can put shorts over it. I can do a t shirt though.

Don't forget towels and water shoes just in case the ground is too hot.
Always seem to forget something and thewn I have to buy. Yuck - high prices but pretty nice towels!

I live fairly close to Sesame. It's a great time for the little guys but very expensive. Depending on who checks your bags, you may not be able to bring fod in with you but I don't think they will give you too hard a time about water.
Be sure to bring water shoes. It's not that the ground gets hot (although it does), the ground is all little pebbles that after about an hour of walking on them, start to give you little blisters on your feet.

Have a great time!

We live very close and have had season passes for 3 years now, my son is 5. There are 2 parades, 2 and 6:30, same thing be sure to get a spot along the parade route about 30 min early. You will see yellow dots along the walkway. The parade starts close to the entrance and makes its way down towards the big bird theatre. Be sure to have your children stand up and have their hands out waving for characters to come over.

shows - Big birds beach party - my favorite - some seats in the sun and some in bleachers, be a bit early to get a decent seat.

Oscars Game show - they will pick 6 kids from the audience to participate, I think they have to be at least 5 maybe 6 years old

Elmos World - inside, no drinking or eating inside. if you want your kids to be selected to participate - they get to dance with elmo and mr. noodle - you must be early. they are bleacher seats so no matter what you will be able to see the show.

David jacks gotta dance - cute show

mostly water rides - lines will grow long as the day goes

the sky splash to the left as you go in will have the longest lines - this is a family slide in a big yellow float - look for the rubber duckie

the rambling river also tends to have a long line - this is a float down the river ride in tubes

our favorite is the tiny tidal wave pool - not really a pool but children love the waves, parents can grab a chair and watch the kids play in the water - get a chair early - this is to the left as you enter near the rubber duckie sky splash

there are various water slides throughout the park

Little birds rapids is for 7 and under - they can ride in a tube by themselves - very short ride and usually a short wait - behind little birds birdbath

save sesame neighborhood for the end of your day - this is the street you walk down and there is really nothing to see or do - you will see characters throughout the day here for photos

there are not too many rides - the roller coaster as you enter
balloon race ride
tea cup ride
new - peek-abug
new - flying fish - like dumbo ride
new - blast off

you can not bring a cooler - though you can bring a soft cooler bag
we always bring water and snacks
for food I have found the best at captain ernies grill - back by big bird theatre - food is expensive - $3 for an elmo cupcake but the kids meals are not bad and come in a cute elmo container

there is a little beach near ernie's waterworks - my son loves both. bring a bucket and shovel if you can. there are chairs and umbrellas - if you get them early

hope this helps - have a great time!
