OT- School shirts

My PTA is trying to come up with a cute t-shirt design for our school, SES. It is a VERY difficult task considering our mascot is a porcupine, that's right, the ever lovely porcupine and our school colors are orange and black. We usually do something with just an S or Springtown. Does anyone have any generic designs they just loved? Or could you recommend an on-line t-shirt supplier?

Our PTO is having our art teacher design our shirts. She did a fantastic job designing the shirts and best of all we knew using her the approval process would be easy.

I like the previous posters idea. Go to your art teacher and see if she can whip something up for you!

Try over on the Creative DISigns board...ask one of the DISigners if they can come up w/something for you!

Near the end of each school year our school has a t-shirt design contest for the kids interested to design the t-shirt for the next school year. There have been some cute designs. I am not as impressed by the design for this year's shirt but since my kids won't attend that school I don't have to worry about them wanting to buy one.

What about having the students have a design contest, and let all of the students vote? This was how it was done when I was in elementary school. It was pretty neat and the students loved seeing their fellow classmates drawing on their shirts.

We always let kids submit drawings for our camp's shirts. Adults did the voting, but in a school situation, the kids could certainly vote too.

OR- ask a high school art teacher if there is a student you could "commission" for the project.


PS DD's school mascot's a turtle. about as exciting, lol.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, if only we had an art teacher at school! But I was looking to see if anyone had a cute idea that they had already done at thier school and was a huge hit; like a license plate, bottle cap, etc. I love the contest idea, hopefully we can do that next year.
