OT: Rsvp vent

Turns out he couldn't get there but she had 19 of the 20 she invited show up which was pretty darn good and they all told her the next day that it was an awesome party and they loved it so that made her feel good.

It's too bad that as host you could not try to help find a mutual friend or another parent from school who could help by giving the child a ride. As a working parent, I have also had to call upon a friend to take my child to a daytime birthday party. I am lucky enough to have a lot of friends to rely upon, but not everyone is as lucky.

Just wanted to say Hi to fellow Pittsburghers on this thread :wave2:
and ask OP how the party was...who did and didn't show up.

I did offer but he was going to be at her sisters house which is about 40 minutes away- if he was in the area I would have gladly brought him.

We have a similar situation for Saturday.
My girl turned 15 yesterday. More than FORTY-FIVE invitations have gone out, and only about 20 people have let us know either way, most forgot to call but happened to see us out and about during the past 2 weeks and said yes or no. So as of right now I think 14-16 kids are showing up (2 kids are maybes but they do have a legitimate reason, and their mom actually called me). Thing is, it's up to 15 kids included in the price but anyone over 15 is $12 extra per kid. It's a beauty parlor makeover thing so they don't necessarily need a head count beforehand but they will charge for anyone extra so I have NO IDEA whether I will be forking over extra money or not. It's very frustrating. I could have up to 20 extra kids there, yikes! Of course I doubt it, but even 5 extras would be $60. Which I am prepared to pay of course since we over-invited (knowing many would not show), but to find out AT the party does kind of suck. People are so freakin rude!

Why on earth would you send out 45 invitations!!!! What are you going to do if they all show up (or even 30-40 show up!!)
