I recently found out that Rogers is taking the Speed channel out from regular cable and making it a digital channel. I am a huge NASCAR fan and I need this channel for all the info that I need. My dad has digital cable on his TV set in the living room and theres an extra charge of $7.00 a month for the extra outlet in my room for regular cable. My question is if I buy a digital box for my room can I just get the same digital channels my dad has and add the Speed channel or do I have to pay for the entire digital service again? Does anyone have 2 digital boxes on 2 TV sets that would know?

You can add terminals (cable boxes) to your existing service and you will get the same channels an all boxes. You would not have to pay for channels twice.

All the unlocked channels will be available on all the boxes (except for high definition, the extra box would have to be a HD box.)

It's ridiculous what Rogers is doing. A few months ago it was the Golf Channel, now they are removing CNN from the basic cable package!! They are taking things away and then have the nerve to send out a letter last week saying that all of my Rogers service are going up in price.

I am so fed up!

If anyone has an idea of how to battle this I would love to hear!

I've been so fed up with Rogers this week, (numerous internet, cable, billing issues) that i called up to cancel the whole darn thing. They did come up with discounts and freebies when I called. However, I called again and found the freebies hadn't been instituted. I was even more angry! And i have to call them again. Although i cancelled a channel, i still have to pay til the end of my month end - but they turned off the channel already... So i'm paying for the channel, but can't watch it.

We've also just about had it with Rogers. The price seems to keep creeping up (internet and cable) and channels keep disappearing to the digital side. I refuse to pay that much for tv, at least to them. It's to bad we can't shop around for a different cable company, this Rogers or nothing sucks.
A couple of satalite questions. Is there internet service and how would does it work with multipal tv's?

you can have multaple tv sets hooked up to one dish but you have to have a separate receiver for each tv 2 requires nothing extra and more than that requires the use of spliters . They used to offer internet but i dont think they do any more I have Bell ExpressVu for tv and rogers for internet . Here they offer a deal with the localphone company for highspeed internet and ExpressVu for tv ( We are outside the phonecompanys highspeed area )

I had digital cable from rogers and was not happy with it and i love my ExpressVu and pay about 40 a mounth for one recever ( that i own )

if you watch the adds they have deals all the time on recevers and installtion and despite what rogers say the satellite is down less than cable

We actually just got fed up with Rogers over all this in Sept and switched to Bell.

Rogers did the same thing, offered freebies and deals. And then they wouldn't apply them and when we called they'd act like what we were saying was crazy..

So we made the switch. We've had some small issues with Bell but over all feel that currently Bell is the lesser of two evils. (but I'm sure it will change)

Funny thing is Rogers still calls us about once a month welcoming us to our new residence and wondering if we'd like to hook up Rogers. So every month I have to get stern and say to stop calling (they think there must be new tennents in the house since we cancelled our service, even though we made it clear to the reps we were leaving them not our house)

So I got the rogers digital box and they charged me a $69 acctivation fee. Can you believe that? What work did they do? Nothing. I did all the hooking up.
