Hey Everyone - I'm embarrassed to post about it and if it is at all inappropriate, please close this thread, but I've found that you board members are all so helpful with everything that I'm hoping you'll help me too.
So Mid-February I developed a rash-like thing on my inner elbows. I went to see a doctor and he thought it was contact dermatitis, but suspected it might have some fungus as well. He prescribed clotrimazole ointment and told me to use it for 2 weeks. Well I used it for about a week and a half, saw it going away and was clear of anything for another week.
Getting to early March the rash comes back with a vengeance. Then it was really round about 3 inches from top to bottom and very red - bright red after showers. I went to see my doctor again and he was certain it was tinea corporis (ringworm) and prescribed ketoconazole pills. I saw him again 2 weeks later, he continued my prescription and told me to put on the clotrimazole ointment along with the pills.
In total I've been on pills for almost a month and putting the ointment on for the last two weeks. And it's STILL there!
I mean it looks lighter and all, but I still see it there and it gets a little redder after showers.
Have any of you ever had one of these, kids had one, etc? It doesn't look like the ringworms you see when you google it. Do you have any home remedies? Please help.
