My DH is going for the rookie experience on a Sunday am in DEC my question is there a viewing spot for family and if not can you buy a DVD of your race? My DH wants us to come watch :confused3 I would rather take the girls and go look at Xmas decorations!

Dh did this in December and I felt the same way as you, let the kids swim. He REALLy wanted us to go and all of us are SO GLAD we went, the kids had a BLAST! There is a GREAT viewing area, it has bleachers. We were able to take pics of DH getting in and out of the car, getting his uniform on and the kids thought it was great to see daddy going so fast. You can buy a DVD, we got the plaque with his picture on it, it was about $35 We were in and out in less than an hour. We did have a car so it made it easier for transportation! Afterwards we went to a few hotels and checked out Xmas decorations

Hope this helps

you won't regret it. It is a lot of fun to watch & cheer on your driver.

And, it is a big thrill for them & I am sure he would want to share that with someone versus having no one to talk to about it after who would understand his enthusiam. It is a once in a lifetime kind of thing you can't just go do anywhere at anytime.

They do a great job of making the spectators part of the event. It isn't like you are just sitting there waiting --- you are part of the action. You even get to see the track for yourself. And you can take lots of pictures and video.

It starts early so you will be done in plenty of time to get a FULL day in at Disney. We didn't feel like we missed out on anything because we went.

Better yet, do what I did. Go for a ride-along yourself. Nothing like a spin around the track at 150 MPH in the morning to get you going.

Go, you will have fun! I did the ride along - with the instructor, it was awesome! They also drove the kids around the track in a big van.

Go to the pick-up area, next to the dog kennel at the MK for their shuttle. Be there about 9:30 and you will get a ride around the track. Time does go fast and your dh will have the biggest smile on his face when he is done and he will definately want someone to share it with.

I want to do this so bad for my SO, he is very into NASCAR racing. We won't get back out to WDW until next year but I really want to suprise him with this. We never rent a car when we are at WDW, so would we just take the shuttle from MK? Where do I go to find out more about this? How long does it take? Do they only do mornings? Sorry for all the questions!

My dh did this a couple of years ago. He went early in the morning and we took a cab over to meet him later. It is really fun to watch and my 3 girls enjoyed seeing him.

We had to wait quite a while because it was raining off and on and they had to wait for a dry track. If you go, bring something for the kids to do in case there is a delay.

Thanks for all the info! You have convinced me to go! We have a rental car so no big deal we can drive. It is right by the TT Center right?
