OT: razor bumps!!

Ok ladies, I need to hear some tips or ideas on how not to get razor bumps!!!!
I got to the beach every weeked and I try not to shave my bikini
area untill friday morning. But I tell ya by Saturday morning I have red bumps. Like little pimples. Thats what they look like

I don't mind looking like (you know who) during the week, but I would love to shave like a normal person!!

Please help!!

I just started using this stuff called Coochy. Yep, seriously. I friend of mine who sells and does those adult parties for women sent me some and it's awesome. My legs and bikini area are so smooth and no bumps. I have my baby in swim lessons for 2 weeks straight and have to shave way more than I like to.

I would have to check to see where else you could get it or you might just try to google it. I am sure any adult party rep could get it.

I am interested in the coochy stuff myself! At any rate, I shave almost every other day to keep it up...I find that helps the most. I also shave with the grain and not against it...that is not the absolute best shave, but it minimizes the bumps...

I do that also. Shave the way your hair grows. Mom knows best!! But she did not tell us about the bumps

I have turned many of my friends onto waxing. Cost more at first but good razors cost also. So worth it.

I second the waxing. It was not nearly as painful as I expected and it lasts for a long time. I only do it 2-3 times for the entire summer. Make sure you go to a salon/spa where you feel comfortable and/or know someone else who goes there regularly who can give you a recommendation on a good esthetician.

Yes I just bought some Coochy Cream at one of those adult parties I think it was called slumber parties. A lot of my friends use it and they swear by it. It was my first adult party and I was shocked at the amount of people who use the products. I have never heard of the company until then. My cream is on back order apparently it is very popular.

The Slumber Parties can be fun, for those that get into that stuff alot and for those that just want to have fun with some girlfriends.

The new rave in Hollywood is to shave with KY jelly. We both tried it and it worked; really clean shave no razor bumps!!!

I only use it on my legs and armpits b/c I do wax the bikini area.

When I first saw the OP I was thinking...should I mention the Coochy Cream?? LOL. I've never used it because I use nair in those regions, but I remembered a coworker telling me about the cream and she swears by it! Apparently she gets it at an adult store..I haven't been able to make myself go into one to see...lol.

Another for waxing. I was so afraid that it would be painful. Now I can't imagine not doing it! It has made my summer so much easier. I also use Tend Skin daily to prevent ingrowns and the dreaded red bumps. Once you wax, you won't go back to shaving.

didn't read all the replies, so i'm not sure if anyone else mentioned this, but i have done laser hair removal for my bikini line....pricey, but i tell ya, it has been worth it to me not to have to deal with the shaving and bumps ALL season long (was so tired of it year after year). it hurt like anything the first few times. i went for 3 or 4 treatments initially, and now i just go once a year or so to maintain.

for a cheaper option, there are always the bathing suits with the shorts or skirts!

At the moment all of my bathing suits have a skirt or shorts.

Tend Skin works when I get ingrown hairs from waxing, but I've been trying it for shaving and it isn't really working. I haven't found a local waxing place this year, my old one is too far away. No one I've talked to seems to go. Lately I've seen lots of ads for brazilian waxes, which scares me.

Is it ok to ask the name of the adult parties that sell that stuff?? Maybe I can talk someone into hosting around here.
