OT: Racist/Mentally Challenged Jokes - What are your opinions on them?

I think there will always be different standards of behavior at home and in public. At least I hope so. I just can't imagine the belching and farting that might take place if okay at home equals okay anywhere.

Bodily functions shared by many mammals aren't quite the same as speech, unique (as far as we know) to humans . . . unless one has Tourette's Syndrome, speech is fully controllable (in my experience)

Now, my opinion. If it makes you feel uncomfortable, then it is wrong. You have to follow where your heart and conscience leads you. To me, it's the same as stereotyping a blonde as unintelligent, a red-head as having a firey personality, etc.

If people put as much effort into meaningful tasks such as helping a child read, getting groceries for the elderly, volunteering at a shelter, etc. as they do belittling others, can you imagine what we could do as a society?

It was a joke. But the point holds true, there are always going to be different standards of what is acceptable at home or in public. Doesn't make it right, but it is a fact.
