OT question about photobucket privacy

I use photobucket to keep my ebay photos that I insert into auctions. Anyway I was trying to organize to upload some new pics. I found that my photobucket albums setting was set to public instead of private. I want to know if people could go from a photo in my ebay listing into my photobucket album without me knowing..... I do have some pics there of my kids and my baby. It creeps me out that someone could have found them without my consent for them to view. Or is this not possible?

Yes, I believe they can if they are determined or care enough. What I have done is to set two albums, a private one and a public one. That way I can post things for my students while still keeping family photos private. My default is public and I have several sub-albums that are private.

Unfortunately, yes.

You should also 'scramble' your pictures as they're uploaded (it's an additional option)

Otherwise - lets say you load 50 pictures, and maybe post one here, for us to see named 001 - someone nosey could just keep changing the file name:

Yes if the album is public they can easily go through any other albums you list as public. You can change the settings to private though and still directly link individual photos from a private account to be viewed even though the album is private. All of my PB albums are private, yet I post images all the time with it without an issue (my signature for example).

I didn't list a whole album as public....I just had an image in an ebay listing.... but the album (in photobucket) was still checked public, so that means they could prob have gotten to lurking through my stuff even through just that ONE photo in an ebay listing? Oh creepy.

I never worried about this kind of stuff until I realized how my neighbor stalks other people (me too I found.) I mean she and her husband actually take drives around town and the country to watch people and see whats going on... She spends time online typing in zip codes on ebay to try to figure out what people near us are selling (yep she "found" me).....like get a life! She has turned me so paranoid... seriously its bad.
