OT: Puppy names

Our chocolate lab growing up was Snickers and our chocolate lab, which we didn't name, was Augie. We named our vizsla Hudson Hornet, after Doc Hudson, from Cars. We just call him Hudson, though. Ds was a Cars fanatic at that point. I didn't want Lightning or Mater, so we considered Mack as well.

If it's a girl, my cousin just named her yellow lab Lucy. Although she says she should have named her Dandelion because she's like a weed! No matter what she does she just keeps coming back for more and getting into trouble!

We just adopted a Boston Terrier from a local shelter. I LOVE him. I wanted to name him Murphy, but my DS3 had touble saying the name. So he is Ozzy!!!!

My two chocolates were Otis and Sydney. My yellow is Brady. My friends chocolates are Shelby and Tucker.

Now we have a year old Golden Named : Fenway

Another name we was thinking about was Brady as in Tom Brady

Mine are Mushu and Mulan. I have two Chocolate Chinese Shar-Peis!

My Dad recently got a Miniature Pincher. Her name, much to my dismay, was originally Hiney! He changed it when his dog sitter told someone that he was going over to "take care of Joe's Hiney!"

Her name is now Tiney.

my parents' lab was named DUTCH and he was the father of MY choc lab, GUINNESS!!!!!!!! (brown beer!!!)

Guinness is a good name too if you like beer!

What are your family interests. Of course we love Disney so our first dog's name was Sarabi. Our last dog's name was Bristol(DH is into racing). Funny thing: when I was growing up we had a beagle named Duke-then we inherited a black lab. His name...Duke. So we had Big Duke and Little Duke.

I have a beautiful 4 month old female Boxer Named Lilly Belle...Lilly was Walt Disney's wife and The Lilly Belle is the name of one (or 2) of the trains in WDW. Belle is also my DD's (2) favorite princess so it worked out for everyone..lol

Our chocolate labs name is Just Buddy. When trying to give him a name we kept coming up with different options and my dad continued to say his name is JUST BUDDY. So guess what his papers say his first name is Just. Our next dog will be Nana from Peter Pan. This way when she looks sad we can say "poor nana" like from the movie. Good luck in choosing a name.

What does the breeder require? Our berner puppy came from a litter in which all the puppies were named for Classic Literature. We were allowed to submit three names we liked that fit into the theme, and the breeder chose.

We recently got our second Boykin Spaniel puppy and named her Dosie (as in 2nd...uno, dos). Definitely a unique name, but very fitting for her as she has grown!

I had a Pomeranian a while back and we named her Bruiser. For her nickname we called her Buddha-Bear.... don't know if that really helps!
MattnMegsMom - Usually when you get a dog from a breeder and they make you name the dog after something like famous literature, its just for the show name. We used to show dogs (and breed), and thats all it was for - I can't believe a breeder would make you submit names and then pick one herself!

I like most of the names suggested so far. I just wanted to add that you might want to consider keeping it short - no more than 2 syllables. We are in dog training with a woman whose dog's name sounds like some Greek God, but it is pretty comical to hear her get this whole name out before she says come or heel, etc.

BTW, our dogs are Samantha (Sammy) and Lexi (the most flexible dog I have ever seen!)

Do bears poo in the woods????? We have a kegerator. Guinness is a favorite of DH. I wanted to get a chocolate and ablack lab puppies and name them Guiness and Harps for a black and tan. DH said no to two puppies.

Good friends of ours got a chocolate lab puppy in January and named him Finnegan. They used to have an Irish Setter named Shamrock.
