Hi all~

We are going to be getting a chocolate lab puppy either this weekend or the first weekend in June. We aren't sure whether it will be male or female. I am looking to see what other dog names there are out there that are a little different. Bailey is out. I know that a LOT of chocolate labs are named Bailey, but that is our daughters name. :lmao:

I sometimes like to use the breed name to come up with a name for a dog. For a Labrador I would call him Brady-it works for either gender.

:goodvibes

I've got Sweet Pea, Dakota, and Dutchess. They are all 2 1/2 years old.

What about a disney name? It doesn't have to be really Disneyish either....(Like Cinderella or Mickey, KWIM)...My Dog's name is Gus, for the pudgy mouse from Cinderella, because he was the pudgiest pup in the litter. (I still remember his little round belly, I picked him up when he was 8 weeks old and he just turned 11:love: ) His breeder was quite a disney fan, I don't remember all of the names but I remember his father was Peter (Pan).

I love the name Hershey for a chocolate lab! How about something that could tie a little more loosely to chocolate for a boy - maybe Moose, Reece or Dutch?

Santa brought our DD a lab mix puppy for Christmas and we named him Buckeye - hmmmm.....:rolleyes1

But some of the names we were considering (knowing it was a male) was Sebastian, Simba (I sooo wished we would have gone with this, he so looks like Simba cub!), Mufasa....

my parents' lab was named DUTCH and he was the father of MY choc lab, GUINNESS!!!!!!!! (brown beer!!!):rotfl: :lmao: We also toyed around with chip (for chocolate chip) and nestle (for crunch bar!!) Guinness is now almost 7, weighs over 100 pounds, and still very active!!!!!! RIP Dutch who was almost 15 and such a great dog!

another vote for Reese!

Neighbours have 3 choc labs all named after chocolate companies: Hershey, Nestle and Cadbury.

I know a lot of cholocate labs name Hershey. Our chocolate lab is Sutton (female). The chocolate lab down the street is Goliath. We also know chocolate labs with the names: Gypsy, Merlin, McKenzie, Whiskey, Cosmo, Smooch, Monroe, Amaretto, and Harley.

Just named our puppy Dash, from Incredibles.

You can borrow any of my previous beloved dogs names:
Samson the Bear Paws- aka-Samson ;German Shepherd
Bide A Wee's Casey Face -aka Casey ; Sheltie/shepherd mix
Reno: Flat coat Retriever mix
Rebecca of Shagbark Farm -aka Becky ;Chocolate Lab
Gunther the woosy woof- aka Gunther: Chow Aussie Mix (my present pup)
But Really you need to see them and look into their eyes to know their name
Good Luck on your new pup

If it's a boy you could name him Bruno - which means "brown one." That was what we named one of my dogs growing up. Of course, we named him after a soccer shoe.....

Our labs are Max and Jasmine... Max we adopted with the name (and I know it doesn't really fulfill the "different" criteria) and Jasmine actually didn't come from Aladdin but from my husband's favorite movie - Second Hand Lions.

Good luck!

We have a black lab named Bill T. Dog (T is for The) and a yellow lab named Baylee, but we call her Goobie Magoo! We also have a cat named Kittles VonPurzalot. As you can tell we like to have silly names! I have also had dogs named Toopy (I couldn't say Snoopy), Sneakers, Kasey, Lucy and Roxy. Be creative and have fun!

Moose was one of the names I have circulating in my head if it is a boy. Tucker is the other name I have on my list if it is a boy.

I just got an e-mail saying that the breeder has decided not to keep one of the puppies and can I come get the puppy Saturday at noon! :cool1: I e-mailed back to see if I am gettinga boy or a girl, so hopefully I can narrow down some names that way. I have no girl names in mind.

PP-we aren't opposed to the Disney theme for names. Our cats are Piglet and Tigger. I'm not sure that we wanted to go for all Disney pet names, but I like the idea of some of the more obscure character names.

I like Reese and love Guiness. Dh is a big fan of Guiness. Do you call him by a nickname or shortened version?

Our past beloved dogs have been
