Just found out I am about 7 weeks pregnant......:lovestruc

I am wicked sick all day with nausea....throwing up too.....

This happened with my first one too.....FOR NINE MONTHS!!!!!:scared1:

Anyone have any remedies or suggestions for nausea?????:confused3....
I am wearing the sea bands already for motion sickness....they aren't helping that much......:rolleyes1

TIA:flower3:

Congratulations!! I ate crackers before even getting out of bed in the morning, that seemed to help. Also, my doctor told me to try fresh ginger- grating onto veggies/meat/rice etc... I didn't end up trying it, my nausea wasn't terrible, but I feel for you- I've had a few friends who were terribly sick for a few months. Good luck! I hope it gets better!!

ginger has natural antinausea and anti vomiting properties. This includes not only fresh ginger, but also gingerale (some prefer it flat), gingersnap cookies, etc.

It's very helpful to keep something small in your stomach as much as possible. Crackers are great and very portable. consider slowly nibbling a few crackers even before you sit up in the morning.

Good luck! At least it's all worth it;)

I was sick too. I told the Dr and he gave me a prescription. It helped some but made me REALLY sleepy.

All I could eat even with the medication was watermelon and powdered donuts.:confused3

I lost a lot of weight at first.

Good luck!

I feel for you! I tried ginger but it didn't do much for me. I did better with snacking all day on whatever was appetizing. It also helped me to suck on hard candies for some reason. Good luck and congrats!

I had it from the day I turned 6 weeks to about 8 months. I was on Zofran script from the Dr. double dose every 4-6 hours and was still sick. I was in the hospital several times for dehydration first time at 6 weeks. I would use the preggo pops they have different kinds those seemed to work a little and I could keep down a Mcdonalds plain hamburger. Good Luck and I feel for you

I tried everything and the only thing that worked for me was the medication that is anti-nausea for chemo patients. There was another prescription, phenegran... It didn't help.

I feel for ya, it sucks!

The m/s with my second was horrendous. At 13 weeks, I went on Zofran and could finally function. I used it thru my pregnancy.

I tried everything else, but Zofran worked.

If you go that route, be sure to drink prune juice. :thumbsup2

Ginger and peppermint are both very good herbal anti-nausea methods. I know this is going to sound really strange but when I had morning sickness a sure fire cure for me was to have something acidic like citrus or dill pickles. It sounds totally illogical but it worked like a charm, almost as if my body was craving the acid. It worked for several of my friends I suggested it to. I will also give you my family cure for the best stomach settler in any situation. It's a Philippino soup called Pesa.

All you have to do is take chicken (a few breast and legs, or whatever you prefer, a left over roast chicken carcass would work great too) and clean it to get the extra fat and junk they always leave on it. Put it in a large pot, then take a good size hunk of fresh ginger, peel it, cut it into big chunks and stick it in around the chicken. Put about 8 cups of water in the pot and some salt and put it on the stove to come to a boil like any other chicken broth. When it comes to a boil scum off the crud that comes to the top. Let simmer covered for at least 3 hours tasting about half way through to make sure you have enough salt. When it's ready take out a piece of the chicken and cut it off the bone and stick it into a bowl. Add cooked rice and the broth, making sure you don't get a hunk of ginger, you don't want to eat that. It will keep in the refrigerator for several days at least, as long as it has a gelatin like consistency when cold it is still good. You could certainly take all the chicken off the bone, cut it up and put it back into the soup if you want to not have to do that every time you want some, however don't put the cooked rice in before you plan to eat because it will soak up all the broth. We always put cabbage and potato in too toward the end of cooking, but you might want to skip that when you are dealing with an upset stomach. I guarantee it will make you feel better whether you have morning sickness or the stomach flu.

I hope you don't have to deal with this for 9 months again. I hope you feel better soon .

I have a good website that can answer all these questions, but i m not sure if i can post it here.

With DD#1, I was nauseated most of the time so I started taking a vitamin B6 supplement and I thought it helped a lot.

When I got pregnant with DD#2, I started taking it as soon as I found out I was pregnant and never had a day of MS.

I soooo feel for you! I had hyperemesis with all 3 of my pregnancies. The first pregnancy it was undiagnosed and I had an older dr who felt it was a right of passage and that I would be fine. I lost a ton of weight and was in the hospital weekly. Yes, weekly. With my second pregnancy I changed drs. :) I tried a lot of different anti nausea medications and finally found that zofran worked the best for me. I was still in the hospital but this time it was monthly and not weekly. :) 3rd time around, yes it happened again but this time my doc knew to prescribe zofran right away and it worked great. I only had one hospital stay that pregnancy. I hope you find something that works for you. If the ginger, saltines, ginerale, preggie pops, change in diet don't help you, ask your doc about zofran. It was a true lifesaver for me.

Thanks for all the suggestions!....I will be sure to try them out....

Today I woke up and felt OK until I started moving around.....then the nausea settled in once again:rolleyes1

I think I'll have crackers for breakfast!:goodvibes

With my 2nd dd..I was miserable....in the hospital three times. Sick constantly. I tried every possible remedy known! finally I tried the Vitamin B6 ( I think its 100 mg twice a day) and could almost immediately tell a difference! Also I went to my local health food store and bought hard candies called GinGins (ginger candy) and they helped relieve a lot of the sickness as well. Hope you feel better soon, that has to be the most miserable sick I've ever felt. take care!

Lisa

I used Diclectin - it is so expensive, but so worth it!! I was hospitalized 3 times for dehydration (I could not even keep water down) and they finally gave it to me and I felt like a whole new person!!

LEMONS!!!!!!!

I was sick for 7 months straight ALL DAY AND NIGHT.

Nothing worked, not the ginger, not the crackers, not the sea bands, nothing at all. One day a man who's wife had like 5 kids told me to eat lemons and salt, he brought them to work for me and guess what IT WORKED.

I literally had a bowl of salted lemons with me everywhere I went. If you eat too many like I did, you may get a little heart burn (which whole milk helps with)but I would take that over feeling like I was about to throw up any day.

You can also try cola syrup.. weird I know, but when I was pregnant and had horrible morning sickness, we bought cola syrup from the pharmacy and poured it over crushed ice. Worked like a charm, and safe :)
