OT:Photo editing advice needed

Seeing as there are a few experts on this board, I wanted to ask some advice about photo-editing.

I have seen some really effective pictures in B&W with a particular detail highlighted in colour and would love to know how to do it. I have some fantastic wedding pictures which I know would look great with this done but have absolutely no idea where to start.

Just wondering if anyone could offer some advice. With regard to editing software, I use paintshop pro - not sure if that is suitable for doing this. I'm afraid I really am a bit of a numpty when it comes to technical stuff :blush:
 
I don't use PSP but IIRC PSP can do that job as well as any photo editing software out there.

PS: PSP X is actually more expensive than PSE 4 (in Canada) by 50% !!!
