OT Pea Coat fitting

I just got my first pea coat but I am not sure if it fits the way it is supposed to?? Are they supposed to be loose or somewhat snug?? I am debating if I need to order a smaller size but I am wondering if that would be too snug??

Not sure if this is the correct answer, but I like them to look "fitted". Not loose or bulky, but not so tight as the buttons are going to pop.

Just remember, if you wear layers or a bulky sweater, even a "fitted" coat can get snug quickly.

I just got a pea coat for the first time. I usually wear medium clothing, but had to get a large. A medium would definitely been too small. I guess different manufacturers have different ideas of what a medium is?!?!?

Have someone else take a look at you with it on and see what they say .

I got DS one for Christmas and I think it looks great on him, but he said a girl said it was too big on him. It looks fitted without being snug. I guess its suppose to look snug????? I had one back in the 70's after Ali McGraw in Love Story. I loved it, but since it was almost 40 years ago, I guess they have changed!
