Hi everyone. Just catching up. I would always choose to go when it's quiet - I hate queues. I would rather freeze in January and walk on than bake in the summer and queue. We went to Universal Studios years ago and I queued for the E.T. ride for3 and a half hours. Yes, you read that right.:rotfl:

OMG!:scared1: :scared1:

You need to go to Florida in Jan! At universal you walked on everything, but the parks at universal were so quiet there was no atmosphere!! Disney was quiet but not dead like Universal was!

Great! do they have the fireworks on before kids break up for school?
Yes they do, can't quite remember exactly when the fireworks start but we've always seen them going at that time in July. Last year we went later (30th) and returned on August 8th but I felt the parks were busier then than we'd ever seen them in previous years.

Thanks for that - once were in DLRP I will start gently nudging him that it would be so nice to return in the summer and see the fireworks :rolleyes1

I know! I would never do it again. My DH refused to queue and wandered off. I queued for the Jurassic Park ride for hours too. It was the Saturday that they opened the Jurassic Park ride I think. It was high summer and they were handing out drinks along the queue. They also sprayed you overhead with a fine water spray. It was like some sort of endurance test. It was worth it to hear E.T. say my name at the end.;)

I really want to go bed but Sunset Tan is on in 15mins then Kimora argh lol.

I'm waiting for that to start too!

Well, I have had an eventfull past 30 minutes. My assistant had theis great idea that we get a hamster for a class pet, which we did. But it had to stay at my house for a few weeks to get used to being handled, grow a bit (it is a dwarf one) etc. So we have had it out every evening running around in its ball, getting used to being handled etc. Anyway we just had it out and it jumped off me onto the floor and we couldn't catch it! So I threw the cats out of the room (quite literally!) and we have been on our hands and knees for the past half hour tring to catch the damd thing. And boy can it move quickly!
Right now he is back in his ball, and won't be coming back out for a while!

I would love to go to Florida in January but I'm tied to the school holidays. Lack of atmosphere wouldn't bother me too much! I've never been to Florida but it's on my list of 'must do's'. I'll have to save for years!;)

Its not too expensive when your diser as I just got all the money saving tips off here! I stayed at Pop Century (one of the cheapest resorts) and loved it, we didnt hire a car, just used the free buses and took taxis to universal and sea world, and our flights were in the BA sale so it wasnt too bad.

I even came home with spending money

I will definitely be picking your brains at some point! I'm thinking of late August (heard it was quiet) for 7 or 10 days. I definitely do not want to drive and was thinking of using Tesco clubcard vouchers towards some of it with Virgin. We would be limited with where we stay as we're a family of 5. So far it's coming up as £3,500 ish. Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us.;)

I want to go WDW but when DD is a bit older she can just barely manage DLP and all of its activities lol.

We are tied to holiday times too. August for us was quite quiet and we had a great time. We go with our friends who own DVC so we stay in a 2 bedroomed villa at the Beach Club Villas. The 1st time we didn't hire a car and used taxis to go to Universal and Kennedy which suited me fine. The next time we went over christmas we hired a car which was better, but I could have managed just using the Disney transport.

I can't wait to go back to WDW, but it depends on our friends and their DVC points. Plus I don't really want to go back until the new Harry Potter bit is open at Universal which won't be until Jan 2010.

Ooh, Joolz, we went to WDW for a once in a lifetime trip too! Then we went back again, and plan on going back again! Once in a lifetime does not happen there!!

Me too, and when the little mermaid ride opens :goodvibes

Oh and feel free to pick my brains about trips - the people on the uk board are brilliant though, I just read the posts for a while to pick up the tips!
