OT - Part 3 - Do we really chat this much?!

It's fairly easy to open an account with SelfTrade online.

All you do is fill out the details they ask, then they send you a code which you must enter within 1 month of opening your account.

I think the paper based method is generally a lot more long winded, as they require various documents as proof of identity, where as that check is done automatically online.

You do need an account though, as they have to know exactly who you are etc because of money laundering laws etc...

Whats wrong with selftrade?

I've applied twice and not yet recieved any forms from them.

Just found it easy to set up a share delaing account with Halifax. Called them and within 10 minutes they had set me up with a share dealing account that I can use online alongside my normal accounts with them

maybe you clicked somewhere wrong?

You should get about 4 pages, asking for things like name, address, DOB, bank details, National Insurance number etc...

Eventually you will be given an account number and asked to choose a pin number (assuming that your application is successful).

Yes, you need a dealing account.

You only need the ID if you apply using the paper based method - online, you don't need anything like that apart from maybe a bank statement.

I have just finished making our luggage tags, even the buggy has its own LGMH, they are all attached with streamers from the OUADP lol.
