OT: Paris w/ kids before DLP

I posted this question on the Rick Steves Travelers' Helpline Boards, but I think you all may be a better group to ask, so I'm posting it here as well:

We'll (DW, myself, and kids 6 and 9) be arriving in Paris from Munich arround 12:30 in the afternoon and then spending the rest of that day and 2 more full days in Paris before moving on to Disneyland to end our trip. We'll be there in mid-August. We've identified a few things that we definitely want to do during our stay: Go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, Walking tour that includes Notre Dame and Sainte-Chapelle, go to a market and picnic, and visit the funfair at Jardin de Tuilleries. What other sites and/or activities would you suggest for us that would give us a feel for Paris and also be of interest for kids that age?

Have a look at Sweetlovin's trip report - They came from the US last year with a 6/8/10 year old and did some great things in Paris (and DLP)

If you are planning on going up the ET reserve now as there are on going problems with the lifts and only 1 is operating so waiting times are very very long.

Thanks! We got tix for ET for our first full day at 9AM to avoid lines. Definitely don't want to spend half a day waiting when we've only got 2 1/2 days in Paris.
