I was just reading another thread, and noticed it looks like a lot of us have built families through adoption. Thought it would be fun for us to check in.
I'll go first. I have 2 boys. Bio son Gabe is 8, and our new baby we have adopted is Dexter, 8 weeks old. Domestic adoption. We finalize December 4th, can't wait!
PS, one of the first things DS8 said when we told him about the new baby was "When can we take him to Disney?" Am I raising my kids right or what? :goodvibes

I have a 20 year old son born in Korea, came home 10-31-88!
And I have a 17 year old son born in The Phillipines, came home 3-15-91!

Both are special needs adoptions. They were born with a cleft lip and palate. Many surgeries later my oldes son is all done with surgery, and my youngest has one more surgery, I think. My youngest son weighed just 10 lbs. at one year old.

My oldest son is in his 3rd year of college, and my youngest son is a senior in high school.

They are doing very well. They both are great kids. I am very proud of both of them. We are certainly a family.

We adopted DD7 through DHS a couple of years ago. Our first family vacation was to Disney. It quickly turned into a DVC ownership & we'll be celebrating our 3rd annual trip in 6 months!

There are quite a few adoptive families on here. ( I still think we need our own board :goodvibes ). My DD came home 2 years ago at age 4. (and went to WDW 2 days later) She is AWESOME!!!!!

I am an adoptive parent as well. I have one bio DS - he's 10. Our DD is ours through adoption. She is 4. We celebrated together day on December 4, 2006. We're just a few days away from our 1 year anniversary! Her first trip to WDW came two weeks after coming home! She's been 4 times for a total of about 27 days in the past year.

here - here!!!

our ds (3) is adopted - he is a wonderful blessing who can already spot hidden mickey's!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I don't have any kids yet, but 3 of my siblings and myself are adopted. It is my oldest sister, me, my next sister, and my youngest brother.

My son was adopted from Korea at the age of 7 months. Six months later I was pregant with one of his sisters; 3 years later with the other one.

Adopted mom here as well as an adopted daughter and sister.

DD12 adopted at birth, first saw her at 18 hours old and the first to hold her, been to WDW 5 times.

DD5 adopted at birth, first saw her at 10 minutes, and first to hold her, been to WDW 3 time.

God blessed me with my babies and a mom and dad and brother that "gets it". What a wonderful picture of God's love for us!

We just adopted two teenage brothers from Russia, ages 13 and 15, (adoption date: 9/27/07, came home to America: 10/6/07). We have 3 younger bio children, DS-11, DD-9, DD-6. What a beautiful and miraculous thing adoption is! I just CANNOT WAIT to take them to Disney World (hopefully next summer)!

Our youngest is adopted from China. He is 3.5 years old now and we got him last September.

Our older 2 are bio.

We have 4 biological sons and our little princess came to us through adoption. We brought her home at 1 month old and she is now almost 5 years old. We did a domestic transracial adoption. She has truely been a blessing to her family!

We adopted dd domestically at birth. She is now 9. We have an open adoption and have been so blessed by adoption. I would not have it any other way now, even after all the waiting and heart ache to get her!! We also were called in March by an agency we have been on wait list for since 04.. Our son was born and then passed away within 24 hours.:sad1: . I dont mention him to bring up sad news, I mention him because I dont want him forgotten. He will forever be in our hearts.

Isnt adoption wonderful?????????

My little sister and I were adopted from Russia and visited WDW in 1999 - To a family that existed of a boy & girl ages 3 and 6. My little sister and I were 3 and 1 at the time of adoption.
we're now 15, 17, 17 and 19

We adopted DD4 through DHS also. This Sat. we are going to pick up our future DD (we hope!) for an overnight visit! She is 7mos. and in a foster home (has been there since 3wks). Her goal is being changed to adoption. We kept our foster parent/adoption certification in the hopes that we'd get another child. We'll have to sweat it out for about 9 mos. before we'll be confident that the adoption will go through (5 more mos. for bio-parents to meet their goals - which they are not working on - and another 4 until termination of parental rights).

Our new little one will move in with us the weekend before Christmas!

Our daughter was adopted from China 3 years ago November 10th at 12 months old (bday is 11/6, missed it by 4 days :sad1: ). We also have 2 bio kids, 2 3/4 and 13 months. I always say my oldest daughter was the only planned one (we tried for years, infertility, miscarriage, etc, you all know where I'm coming from), the other two are miracles because of our daughter - she made us a family! In fact, I went to China almost 7 months pregnant (3 months after submitting our paperwork we found out I was pregnant) - quite an adventure to say the least!

Adoption was the greatest thing to happen to our family - the greatest day of my life is when my daughter made me a mommmy!

Another adoptive mom here, too. We adopted my children in Russia as toddlers. And they are both very excited to go back to WDW. (We leave Saturday!)

All three of our children are adopted. Our boys were through DHS and are not 14 & 12 (they were 4 & 2 when adopted). Our daughter is from China and has been home for two years this month (she is almost 3).
