Morning! Am now sat at home with the 2 kids, there have been 3 confirmed cases of Swine flu in Amber's reception class so have decided to keep them off!

I would imagine your DD will be tested now as she has been in contact with someone who has had it.

Oh joy in a couple of months time when the Vaccine is shipped over I will have to not only have that as i'm classed as a frontline healthcare worker but my 3rd Hep B is due next month then my blood test to see if its worked. I hate injections.

Have phoned the doctors and they said no she won't be tested They also said she shouldn't be off school but the 3 children who now have it looked fine yesterday! So I'm thinking how many kids will look fine today and have it tomorrow!

I know that's what I mean, what if other children haven't been in contact with the children who have it, will my kids pass it on even if they have no symptoms? Sorry I know I'm not being very clear it's just if my kids are already infected don't want to pass it on

I'm no medical expert, but the way I see it is, its likely all the children in the class were in contact, plus plenty more in the playground, plus siblings in other classes etc etc. That's why these things are pandemics, there is almost no way of stopping them. If the virus gets very serious, its more than possible there will be a lot of closures of schools, but that means closures of other things too and suddenly a medical disaster is turning into an economic disaster. Lets all hope things don't get that bad. At the moment I'm not too worried if I catch it, in fact I'd rather catch it now than later. But I'd be worried too if there were cases in class, its human nature to worry after all. Just do whatever you feel is best.

How was your day at work?

We finally managed to get DD 2 bikinis today. One in the sale at £8 and the other cost £22, which i a bit more than what i wanted to pay but it fits and more importantly she likes it.

We finally managed to get DD 2 bikinis today. One in the sale at £8 and the other cost £22, which i a bit more than what i wanted to pay but it fits and more importantly she likes it.

Evening - It wasnt too bad today - ive had lots of admin time this morning to catch up a bit and been on a training course this afternoon.

Glad you managed to get DD what she wanted. Have you got everything now then or have you more to get

We have most things now i think. DD still needs a pair of sandals but the ones she saw have sold out (typical)

It just all the boring bits like toileteries to get and they always end up costing a small fortune.

We brought new holdals with wheels to take on Saturday, 3 bright pink ones from Argos. I won't miss them coming round on the luggage belt.
I plan to take them and 2 cases as well. They won't weigh much going out but i am sure they will be rammed coming home.
