I did it! I just resigned from my 54 mile (1hr and 45Min) commute job! I am so excited I have just had a huge cloud lifted off my shoulders. I can finally start to get excited about the wedding which is in 3 weeks! I can't believe its almost here. Now I need to get a new job but I do have some things in the works and waiting to hear back from several interviews so hopefully one of them will come through before we leave for disney.

Ummm, congratulations? Is that the right thing to say:rotfl:
What a horrible commute that must have been for you, hopefully you will hear back from some of the places you have applied to before Disney. It would be great to secure your job before your wedding.
Yay, for bringing back the excitement for your wedding though, 3 weeks ain't long:banana:

I did the same thing last week! I have another job lined up, but it's still a stressful situation. Planning a wedding is hard enough by itself but when you add in the stress of a bad job, interviewing, etc. it's even worse! I'm glad you'll have the time you need before the wedding, and once the wedding is done, you can worry about your job search again. At least you'll have more time to yourself in the meantime!

That is a big woo hoo!!!!!! :woohoo:

That must feel great! PLus, you get more sleep now! :rotfl2:

Malibelle: How excited are you!!!??? We are both so close! I can taste the Mickey Bar already! :goodvibes

:mickeybar:mickeybar:mickeybar

Good luck!!!

I know how jobs can stress you out big time...so GOOD FOR YOU!!!

& I hope you find your dream job & have the best wedding day ever!!

De-stress & enjoy this short break...you'll be surprised at how refreshed & ready to roll when you get back from your DFTW.

Good luck & keep us posted:cool1:

Congrats on the job quitting. What are you going to do now with all the time seeing you don't have to spend it driving?!?!? Best of luck with finding a new job. Here is some pixie dust for ya. :tink:

I did the same thing before my wedding-- i needed more time to plan and a lot less stress!!:drinking1 Here's to ya!!

What an awful commute! We lived in NJ for years when I was young and my daddy always had a 1-hour plus commute. I'm so glad where I live and work now it's 15 mintues!

Now you can concentrate on what really matters - beginning your life with your new husband  Good luck on the job search :wizard:

Congrats!! I hope something new and wonderful and CLOSE to home comes along for you!! My fingers are crossed for you and some extra pixie dust, too! :wizard: :wizard:

Three minutes by car to the school where I work - it makes such a difference, time wise and cost wise (petrol)! Good Luck - I'd forget about it until after the wedding - relax and have fun! :)

Congrats on the job quitting, lol...I wish I could--mine's only about 15 minutes, but it's 10 miles, it eats my gas, and it prevents me from getting all my homework done, lol....

Congrats! And good luck! Enjoy your remaining days as a single woman :)

Congrats! I do not know how you dealt with that commute! Good luck finding a new job :goodvibes

Congrats! I think about quitting my job everyday :rotfl:

haha...... me too. my train ride is an hour each way.. :crazy2: which I guess is not as bad as the 54 mile commute but... still a huge pain. the worst is if i forget to bring something to read with me... I go insane... OR like today, and yesterday, and on so many other days.... there's someone talking on their cell, so loudly about whatever, for the WHOLE ride... and nobody wants to hear it... and the rest of the train car is completely quiet... and they keep going on about how their painter did such a great job or about whether they should wear jeans or nice black pants to the thing they're going to tonight, or like "OMG, do you believe that she said that to him?!?!?" WOW! :rolleyes2

okay, sorry, I'm done now.

Congrats on not having your commute anymore! I hope you have something lined up closer to home. I have a bunch of interviews next week so I think something will come through. Its kind of scarry though leaving with nothing lined up, I have never done this before but I have a 2nd interview at one place on Monday, 9 miles from my house! and it even as has a Starbucks inside because its thier corporate US headquarters. Wish me luck!

Congrats on not having that horribly long commute. Off topic of that for a moment. I want to move to FL. and was wondering if any of you know what nursing jobs are like down there? Thought I'd see on here if anyone happened to know.
