My Mother, Ann, died March 18th, 1992 from complications of Breast Cancer.

Sadly, she had ignored the signs her body had given here and would have lived

IF she had gone to the doctor in time.

I urge every woman in this group to do self exams, get mammograms,

and ask family members to do the same.

I urge every man in this group to talk to the women in their lives about this disease.

Men are not immune from Breast Cancer either,

if you think something is wrong go to the doctor please.

I'm going for my annual mammogram and it's scheduled for 10/7. :thumbsup2 I'm sorry for your loss. :grouphug:

What a great post! Hugs to MrsKsomeday! What a wonderful way to pay tribute to your mother!!
Ladies do your self-exam and get your mamogram.
Gentlemen, remind the ladies that you love them by encouraging them to do their exams.
My mom is a 2 year survivor, she has been quite lucky. I'm currently watching my cousin who just finished her treatment for breast cancer now start treatment for lung cancer. It just sickens me to see her have to experience this discomfort.
Please also quit smoking as well!!
Love and pixie dust to all ~*~*~*~*~*

I lost my grandmother, also named Ann to breast cancer February 14, 1984. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of her....I miss her so very much! Please ladies get mammograms....there is so much more as far as medical advancements now than when my grandmother had breast cancer...I fully believe that had she gotten breast cancer today she would have beaten it...

Thank you for posting this important info. DS was born 3-16-2004 and a week later MIL was admitted to the hospital for a radical masectomy. (sp?) Good news: she's still around, cancer-free, now spoiling the kids, as a grandma should. :)

I worry because DD4 has a genetic link to this horrible disease, but I have to remind myself that early detection is the best fight. As DD grows older I will share grandma's story and encourage her to check herself regularly.

Please spread the word to those you love!!! Early detection is key! It's up to us to take good care of ourselves so we can spread the love of all that is Disney! :hyper2:

Thanks for the wonderful post! My grandmother died from breast cancer before I was born! I am a very big supporter for breast cancer awareness! I miss my grandmother terribly and wish I could have spent just one day with her! One day I will in heaven and I know she watches me everyday!! I love you Granny!!

Please help support Breast Cancer Awareness in your area!!!
