I am looking for crafts that are no sew projects that I could make to hand out as gifts?

Blankets!!! You take a hole punch and punch the edges of a fleece and then tie on taggies (er strips, er Oh darn, i cant come up with the right word). They look great and take hardly any time.

I've done blankets - not with hole punch tho. I do the kind where you cut strips on all the edges and tie them together. It takes some time - about 2 - 4 hours per blanket. I purchased a square edge and a cutting board and a rolling cutter. That cost maybe $30 total (with 50% coupons). Then the cost of 2 layers of fleece costs maybe $18 - $30 depending on type and sales. So it isn't totally cheap, but it is a great gift and reasonable.

We make a Christmas Craft every year and its one of the things I look forward to at Christmas time.

Last year we made bread mix that you only had to add a bottle of beer to and then pop it in the oven. We packed it up in pretty cellophane bags with ribbons and tags with instructions.

One year we did a very ambitious project but it turned out beautiful. We made cloth origami. We used silk but you can use any thin, pliable fabric. You use a very stiff iron-on interfacing, when you have ironed the backing on you can cut the paper into squares and use an iron to fold it into origami shapes. We made ornaments from an origami pattern that involved combining 6 individual pieces into a 3-D hollow ball that we hung from a cord and accented with a tassel at the bottom. It sounds complicated but once you get a rhythm going its moves right along. And you can get several ornaments out of each yard of fabric so it is not very expensive.

This year I wanted my 3 year old to be able to help so I bought a reel of decorative wire and a big bag of colorful beads and let her string beads onto lengths of wire with loops bent into one end so the beads stay on. Then I used some needle nose pliers to bend the wires into fun shapes - hearts, spirals, whatever - and then attached ribbons to make christmas ornaments.

Baking is usually popular too. You can't go wrong with a box of cookies, you know!

Good Luck
Miss Chris

Here's something I did with DD a few years ago and people are still using them:

Get some inexpensive wood picture frames that are pre-painted. Take some craft glue and paint it on the frame, covering the entire wood portion on the front side (make sure you take the glass off first and the back. Sprinkle seed beads over the glue, like you would do with glitter and cover the entire area-you may need to press some of the beads into areas if the frame is bumpy. Set it aside to dry and then shake off the beads that didn't stick. If it's not as "blingy" as you like, add more glue and do another layer or just put more glue in areas you want.

It helps to do this in a pan, like the large tinfoil ones you buy at the store for baking, this contains the seed beads, so that you can resuse the ones that didn't stick. You may also need to knock off some of the beads if they get in the area where the glass goes.

also extra cool if you do sead bead patterns. More time but more cool (its not to hard to pattern as long as you use tweezers)

I did no-sew tie pillow last year for the parents of my preschool kids. I will see if I can find a picture of them b/c the parents & everyone else at preschool had an absolute fit over them! They were a huge hit!
