A few months ago, someone posted about a nice steak house (relatively pricey) near the Fort. Seems like they originated in Texas, but not sure about that.

Anyway, at the time, I looked up their website and found there are several across the U.S. and one in the Northern VA (Fair Lakes) area.

I want to check it out but can't for the life of me remember the name. Anyone? :confused3

Thanks for any help! :worship:

Outback? BigDisneyDaddys @ le Fort?

Not Shulas? There's one in the Dolphin

No ... the one someone mentioned before was off of Disney property (but not too far). I checked Shula's website and they DO have one in Northern VA, but it's not the one I was thinking of. Keep trying, guys (and gals)! Someone's Valentine's Day may lay in the balance .......... :lmao:

If you want MEAT that melts in your mouth than try Texas De Brazil. There is one on International Drive...Excellent but not cheap.

But now that you mention it, ntsammy5 .... if my ever faltering memory serves, seems like it was your sister that mentioned it before. :confused3 You mean she's never taken you there? Better fix that next time you're down! (sorry, Deb!) :lmao:

YES!!!! We have ourselves a winner!!! :cool1: I remembered the "not cheap" part :rotfl:

Ooooo, looks like they cook it like O'Hana's -- DH LOVED his "meat buffet" there.

And sorry for stirring up a hornets nest, ntsammy5's sister ...... WHY am I drawing a blank right now on your name? :flower3: So sorry!!!! You've been too quiet lately! Plus, that up-till-3am thing is REALLY putting a hurting on me right now!

:worship: to Big Kahuna! Is this place on par with the filet at LeCellier? DH drooled over that one last month. Can't wait to check it out. Thanks for saving his Valentine's/belated birthday celebration!

They sell Shula's steak sauce in all our local grocery stores down here, so good :)

LOVE YA DON!

We loved it. They have a huge Salad and Appetizer bar that you could eat all by itself so be careful or you won't be able to sample all of the different meats. Different type filets, pork, ribs, chicken (parmesian bacon wrapped), lamb chops or leg etc... My mouth is watering as I type. You can even specify how you want it cooked...rare, medium, well done. They are all Brazillian style and they use some special salt to keep the flavor in while cooked on the open flame. It is all you can eat but don't let that fool you. The meat is very tender. You have like a red or green card on your table and if you want them to stop and serve you whatever meat they are serving you leave the green side up, otherwise you leave the red side up and they will pass you by. You get fried Banana to cleanse you palate between meats. The cheese bread you get with dinner is also fantastic and you could fill up on this alone.

We have also eaten at Veto's Chop House which was excellent also. I believe they are on Internatinoal Drive also.

I've never been to Shula's, but I have been to Texas de Brazil. TdB is the most incredible restaurant I've ever been to. It's not one of those "fancy-schmancy" places that you have to hold your pinkie finger just so in order to "belong" there. It is up-scale in the decor - but you can go in shorts & sandals & be comfortable. What is incredible is the food - and the fact it is all-you-can-eat. The have a gi-normous salad bar with items you just don't see on most salad bars, such as 8 or 9 different types of sliced smoked sausage, raw veggies indiginous to South America but that I've never seen or heard of here, wonderful cheeses, shrimp...well... lots of stuff! They also had the best Crab Bisque I've ever tasted & rolls and breads that were quite unique. And that was just the salad bar!! Then, several gauchos are continually roaming around the restaurant with skewers of lamb, pork roast, filet mignon, sirloin roast, and they will keep piling as much of these intems on your plate as you can eat. They bring plates of mashed potatoes that are wonderful - but I couldn't tell you what spices or herbs they put in them, and the times we've been there they also served grilled brocolli. Yes, you read correctly - GRILLED brocolli. It was over the top!

Yes, it is higher priced than what we normally spend ($55/person) but it is definitely someplace we go to once a year or so. Reservations are pretty much a must. If you want to go somewhere truly different when you're at the Fort - this is the place to go. I'd rather spend the bucks at TdB than spend a similar amount at HDDR or PR.

When NTSammy5 comes here, he loves to spend time at FtW or Epcot - those are his happy places. Mebbe next time I'll convince him that there are other places around the area besides WDW and we'll go to TdB. Oh yeah, we did take him to B.D.'s Mongolian Grill in Lakeland last time he was here - and he enjoyed it!

Now - back to the OT - the steakhouse near FtW that you are probably referring to is Lone Star Steakhouse. It's very similar to Outback.

man...........its sounds so friggin GOOOOD....I wish I could eat my moneys worth.

Earlier today when I was on my Texas de Brazil kick, I called the location in Virginia -- they said $43.99/dinner and $19.99/lunch (what a deal!) and half price for kids under 12. (website said prices vary by location) DH will be so surprised! Thanks for the glowing recommendations you two! Can't wait to try it. The pictures on their website look incredible!

Nope, TdB was the one I was thinking of! :goodvibes
