OP, make him go! It's the greatest city in the world! I may be sliiiiightly biased
, but I too am a big believer in experiencing new things. How do you know if you'll like something if you don't try it? I think everyone needs to stand in Times Square, see a Broadway show, go on the Ferris wheel at Toys R Us, visit FAO, go to the Central Park Zoo/Carousel (Mary Poppins!), and see the "big whale" at the Museum of Natural History.
I do have to say-- book your hotel NOW! Easter weekend will be absolutely packed. Your hotel rates will probably be very high.
