Are there any rumors about the new historical American Girl doll to be released in September? Any idea what era she might be representing? I understand her name is Julie, and they are releasing her best friend at the same time.

This is the first I'm hearing of this!! I'm wondering if the dolls pictured are going to be the doll or if those were used as demo.'s I'd be a little disappointed if those were the actual dolls. You can already get those dolls through the Just Like Me line.

I was thinking the same thing. I just bought the "Julie" doll for my DD last week for her birthday in the Just Like Me collection.

I feel so old now that I know my girls can have a historical doll that is from the 70's since I was born in the 60's:hippie:

I was thinking the same thing, but I was born in 1971, so it more like my big brothers time. I guess the 1980's defines me more. Still makes me feel OLD.

Just think of the clothes they are going to come up with. :hippie: Polyester anyone???????:rotfl:

Glad to see I'm not the only one! I thought the same thing. DD has that just like me doll. She loved her hair and earings and didn't care that it didn't look like her, LOL. I hope that isn't the real doll. Thanks for posting this because I had no idea new dolls were coming out and DD is a huge AG fan.

Wow, do I feel old (born in 1972). I didn't realize I was already considered "historical" before I've even hit my mid-30's! (In my mind I'm still "early 30's", at least until my birthday on Saturday!). I would have thought a 1950's or 1960's doll would be a better choice since at least that would relate more to my daughter's grandmother...

If it's really from the 1970's, shouldn't her name be Jenny??? :)

Aw, now you're making me feel old! ;) 60's girl here...:hippie: don't you remember when the schools were trying to convert to the metric system? Wow, a blast from the past. I thought I'd never get it...thank goodness it never really took off! I'd still be in 2nd grade!
I think this one will be on MY b'day list! (BTW, my BFF in 1974 was a Chinese girl...too cool!)
Thanks for sharing the info.!
