OT: Nemacolin Resort

Has anyone ever stayed at the Nemacolin Resort south of Pittsburgh PA?
We live pretty close and are looking for an early Nov getaway. It would be me, DH, & DS (just turning 6 end of Oct.) I have heard they have a great spa, but what can we do as a family. I don't think DS is big enough to go horseback riding. I see they have a kids club, but wondering if it is just a summer thing. May try to call TA about this. Wanted to get some honest opinions from any Disers who have been.

I have never done it myself, but I know people who have.

First thing I heard, its very expensive, nice but expensive.

And everyone I know has done it as a couple or an adult only thing (like a girls only weekend). I'm not too sure how kid friendly Nemacolin would be.

I stayed there about 8 years ago. It was very nice but very expensive. To me it is more of an adults only place but my daughter was not born yet when we went so I was not really looking for "kids" things to do. The room, resort and grounds are beautiful and the spa was great. However, unless things have changed since I went it seems more like an adult getaway weekend then a family trip.

Another nice but maybe more kid friendly option might be Bedford Springs which shouldn't be too far from you. Friends of mine took their kids this summer with their grandparents - their daughters at the time were 5 1/2 and 3 1/2. They had a good time. The place is very nice and a bit expensive as well from what they said but there was a pool and I think a kids club. They seemed to find enough for their kids to do for a few days.
