Tomorrow is the last day I have to decide if I want to go ahead and go with open heart surgery for my son or go with just 1 button. My son was born with 1 large hole and 2 small holes in his heart. I have been driving myself crazy about this since he was a baby worrying about what decision to make and if it is the right one. I honestly believe my son will not be able to handle himself after open heart surgery, he has a very feisty temper, my own fault for giving him the name "the fiery one". If I decide to just close one hole now there is always the what ifs later on. Normally this surgery is done at a much younger age but since my guys are so small we kept waiting and hoping that they would close on thier own but they never did. Please just keep us in your prayers tomorrow that I make the right decision. Who knows, maybe when we go in for our appointment tomorrow by some miracle that the holes closed on their own.
I can't imagine having to make such a huge decision like this. Needless to say, I don't envy your position, and my heart goes out to you in a bigger than Texas way. Please report back when you can.

He doesn't need open heart anymore the doctor feels that the one 'button' will be able to cover all three holes or at least enough of the 2 small ones so they won't affect the right side of his heart. The bad news is that there is tremendous growth in the right side when up until now he has yet to show any abnormal growth. But he says with the large hole taken care of w/some of the small holes being covered his heart should go back to normal in just a short amount of time. Sorry if my post dosn't really make since I am dead tired right now and could not sleep a wink last night and it is a very long drive to see the specialist. Again Thank Y'all so much for your prayers. We go back in July and will keep you updated.
