We are convinced that my 10 year old has a learning disability. He has a hearing impairment and has an IEP for the hearing loss (sound field system in classroom), but receives no special education services because he can function at a level over the threshold for receiving special education services for learning. We understand that there are places you can go to and pay to have an assessment done to find any learning issues. Anybody had any experience with this and have any recommendations? My son is losing academic ground each year, but by the time he qualifies for special education help - he'll be in middle school and then it will be really hard to make up lost ground. Any information is truly appreciated. Thank you.
