OT: need help with baby girl names

Josephine
Anastacia
Lillian
Claire
Amelia
Ailish
Ainsley

DD name is Meredith Grace

well, since I have an Emily and a Hannah, you can't have those names.... LOL just kidding.
I like the name Lily, liked it long before Hannah Montana,

PS, while you are thrilled I am sure to see a girl, keep a boys name on reserve just in case. Our friends had been told girl, then out came their son. They were shocked but happy just the same.

We had three boys and then a girl and we named her Melissa Nicole and I love it. It is so "common" that hardly anyone else has that name anymore. I hope your little girl is as much as a princess as ours is.

My princesses are Cassidy and Lindsay. We have younger girls in the family named Aubrey and Evangeline (Evie).

With both of our pregnancies, we didn't find out the gender ahead of time. We now have 2 daughters...

Kamryn Grace ("Kammy") and
Kaedyn Elizabeth ("Kaedy")

Had they been boys, their names would have been Kleyton Lawrence or Kaden John.

(We wanted to stick with the K's since me and DH are both "K"'s and all of my siblings are "K"-names.

My youngest was going to be Molly, but we got Joey instead. There are times I want a fourth just to get a Molly!:rotfl: My DD is Katie (Katherine Ava), and she actually does not have another Katie friend. Between her and her little brother, we know 4 Sophias!

My little guy, Ryder William - DH is Ryan William, would have been Mollie Francis after my DGM if he'd have been a girl.

Our girl names were:
Lillian Ashley (my name is Leslee Amber)
Atalie Rose
Aslinn Brooke
Mollie Francis
Gracie Francis
Sidney Rose
Audrey ???
and I adore the name Eliza Francis too but DH wasn't a big fan of it!

I don't really love the name Francis btw, but I do love my DGM with all my heart so I had wanted to incorporate her name.

I love baby names so much and could go on forever coming up with names. Did you have ideas already? I didn't read the whole thread so maybe I should see if you posted any!! :goodvibes

My two dds are Juliette Marie marie was my great grandmothers middle name and Lily Michelle juliette picked this lily and dh picked michelle I liked it b/c I had originally planned on naming her Isabelle Jayme.

I have always loved the name Lorelei but here lately I have started liking the name Olivia and Claire and Helena.

I have always wanted my kids to have names that weren't popular b/c my name has been well over used for my generation.

ETA~seems like Olivia is very popular here

Julia or Emma. ;)

I also love Irish/Celtic names.
Bridget
Fiona
Maeve (love this - couldn't get DH on board)
Moira (pronounced Maura)
Molly/Mollie
Kathleen (Katie or Kate)

Have fun with your new princess! I love having 2 girls. princess:

I work with 2 women that are preg, and due just a couple months apart. One is naming her daugher Lily Grace, and the other is naming her's Alyviah. I like the name Malieah (ma-LEE-ah). Hubby wanted to name our first daugher Heaven Lee...um NO!! lol We named her Cherokee instead. She is often called Cheyanne...but she does well to correct ppl.

Good luck with your new daughter, and I'm sure you have a list of names now lol

... What about Maive or Aslynne (sp?).

Spelling:

Maeve [mAve - rhymes with wave]
Aisling [ashling - the final g is kind of squelched]

My 9 mo is Aisling; her older sister was Niamh [nEve]. Those are both very ethnic traditional Irish language names, not Irish-American names. Maeve is more Irish-American. (The truth is that most truly Irish girls names really don't sound very feminine to American ears. They are a lot like German names that way.)

Honestly, the OP's boys' names sound very English/American to me, not Irish at all.

PS: When I hear "Payton" or any spelling variant of it, the first thing I think of is football: Walter Payton and Peyton Manning. It has masculine associations for me.

You all have some wonderful names. Our list is slowly growing. Here it is so far: Reagan, Lena, Eden, Darby, Lacie, Payton, Paisley, and Lexie. I thought it would be hard to name another boy, but I think it is way harder to name a girl. Thanks for the great names, keep them coming.

After 4 boys we are finally having a little girl!!! What a wonderful surprise it was to discover(during ultrasound) that our baby is a girl. We have a history of conceiving boys so we never really thought to long about girl names. Some not so common suggestion would be great. Our boys names are:Riley Michael, Avery Tyler, Gavin Alexander, & Cooper Ethan. Help me find the perfect name!

LOL Well I guess one of my suggestions wouldn't work so well...Avery Brynn (my youngest DD's name LOL)!!

Okay, how about Emily Marie? princess:

My youngest is named Payton Marie! I love it and we are always getting compliments on it. It really fits her too! Should we ever have another girl, her name will be Reagan or Hayden.

My youngest is Sara Beth (we named her before that song came out)
My oldest is Ashley Victoria.

We also like Emma Nicole
Emmy
Zoe

Hi

My DDs are Maisie Jane & Bronwyn Rose

Popular names in the UK

Molly
Maddy
Lilly
Chloe
Mia
Charlotte
Lola (after Charlie & Lola)
Rhianna
Megan
Emily
Rebecca

Our DS would have been Megan Elizabeth had he been a girl. Our only requirement for a girl's name is that Elizabeth must be either the first or middle name. One of the things we have to watch is initials - our last name starts with G, so we have to be careful. :lmao: Here's some of the combos we've been working on (and I'm not even pregnant!):

Chloe Elizabeth (my personal fave!)
Rebecca Elizabeth (DH's fave - we'd call her Becca)
Elizabeth Anne (I love this name, but it's an exact duplicate of my best friend's sister's name, who was murdered four years ago...not sure how to go about on this one)
Laura Elizabeth (initals spell LEG - not sure about that)
Lillian Elizabeth (same thing)

I agree with PP that it seems harder to come up with girls names than boys. DH and I had DS's name (Nathan William) done within ten minutes (thanks to my requirement of using my grandfather's name as my first son's middle name), and we already have another DS name chosen (Alexander Eugene - he'd be called Xander)...and we're not planning on trying again until after our October trip to Disney! :rotfl:

Congrats. I have two boys and a girl. It was a lot easier naming the girl than the boys, I must say. My daughter's name is Sofie. It goes really well with our last name (which is a problem, because my husband is Chinese-American and lots of names just don't work. It's actually worse for boys' names--all I could think about were the playground jokes they would have to endure). My boys names are Eric Michael and Thomas Kristopher.

I have this goofy rule for names: I ask myself how will it look on law firm stationary. I know this sounds silly, particularly since I really don't want my kids to be lawyers (I'm one myself) but I like a name that works for kids and adults and doesn't pigeonhold them in one era. So I stayed away from names that were too cutesy or trendy. Also, not too crazy about made-up names. My SIl named her daughter something that sounds like a lot like "Kahlua", which is sort of unfortunate as the sound of makes me crave a White Russian.:goodvibes

Okay, names since you asked.

I love Elizabeth. Will never go out of style.

Madeline

Katherine (my daughter's middle name)

Camilla (I really wanted to use this name, but it seemed a little too different)

Good luck. Wait 'till you start buying all those cute dresses!

And although it breaks my rule, I just love the name Fern. No, I would never use it. But it's just so cute.

Congratulations!

I'd definitely go for a girly name. It's kind of confusing these days with so many names being used for both. I'm glad I'm not a teacher! I'd also agree to check the popularity charts.

I like:
Shannon (this is a girls name here in the US, right?)
Lillian/a (is this incredibly popular now?)
Jillian (could use a G, but J is much easier!!!)
Bridget
Maggie
Kate (Katherine, I suppose)
Tessa

Have fun figuring it out. :)
