Not fundraising as in non profit but making money.

Let me explain. My niece, Emiley, who is 7 is completely blind in one eye and we learned a few months back that she is losing the site in the other eye, she will be completely blind soon. Before that happens I want her to see Disney World. She is so obsessed with Mickey that when the hurricans moved through a few years back she was worried about Mickey and she didnt even ask about Uncle Rick, my brother who lives in FL. LOL
I could do a cheap get away, stay at a holiday inn etc, but I want her to feel the magic, get the entire experience.
The trip will cost about $3000 for the 5 of us and I have made about $1000 on GPT sites so far. I am thinking a rummage/bake sale, my desserts rock. Do they make a good amount of money? Any other suggestions?

Thanks so much.

how about starting to liquidate old books and cds on either amazon or half.com? You might be able to sell them for a couple bucks here or there. Its not a huge money maker but its a good way to get rid of stuff in your house and make a little money. Its also a lot easier than ebay.

What about talking to some of the delis or pizza shops in your community and see if they will sell your baked goods? Bring them some samples & see if they will let you put out a basket of them? :) Or maybe get a table at a craft fair and sell them there?

What do you think about this?

Everyone knows that there is money to be made on Ebay. Well I dont have any unwanted items to sell, but what about utliizing my baking talents and selling my recipes?

Could you make your recipes into a cookbook and sell them that way? Maybe you can sell them at your church as well if you are known for your recipes.

The problem I would see with that idea is that there are sooo many free online sites for recipes that I am not sure you would have great success? :confused3 I think the cookbook idea is a good one. :thumbsup2
