Depends on what you are looking for - nice place to spend some time? Quick in and out on the way somewhere? I like Cedars of Lebanon State Park just east of town. There is nice stuff on the Natchez Trace too, depending on how far out you want to be.

I second this! We have stayed there many times as our starting point south on the Natchez Trace. It has some very nice pull - throughs also that we always use as we have a MH and a tow, and don't want to unhook.

Thanks, iheartpeterpan!! Long story, short The second day there my dh was stopped on his bicycle, his foot slipped and he & bike hit the ground hard - yes broke his collarbone and rib. Trip into Sevierville, long night, then basically 8 days recuperation at the campsite (at least a river site ) Anyway, he was able to drive MH to Raleigh - I couldn't reach pedals . Fine now! (sorry, in retrospect, should have pm'd you)
Again sorry OP, really you cannot go wrong with Cedars of Lebanon St. Pk. iheartpeterpan and I both vouch for it Have a great trip.
