I know this is off topic but I just needed to vent. Last night I was playing with my dog and noticed a lump on her neck. I didn't sleep at all worring about her and what it could possibly be. I looked it up on google and found out that it could be either an allergic reaction to her shots, a cyst, an ingrown hair- which I highly doubt as it is under the skin and is a ball that is about the size of a dime, or lymphoma. I am just so worried. I just got her last year and she is like my child- I take her everywhere I go. I called the vet this morning and they told me to bring her in tomorrow afternoon. The suspense is killing me and I am sick to my stomach with worry. Not to mention DF got her for me for Valentines day in 2005. I am so stressed and am ready to cry.

Not to mention on mothers day my kitchen was flooded due to a pipe breaking. I feel like I just can't get a break.

It will be ok! We have a Bulldog and I know how you feel! I am sure it is just an ingrown hair, that does happen a lot with pups! We will cross our fingers and just know your pup will be just fine!!!

I know how you feel! I have a dog who is 8 and we just love her to pieces! We treat her like our child too! Hang in there and I am sure everything will work out! Keep us posted. You are in my thoughts and prayers!

Thanks guys. I will let you know what happens after the vet visit tomorrow. I am hoping that it is an ingrown hair.

I know whatever anyone says to you won't make you feel any better. I know exactly how you feel. I have a 4 year dog, who I call my child w/ fur, and I was once in a similar situation. We woke up one Sunday morning and he could not move his back legs and was crying in pain. I called my vet and he said my dog was probably having paralysis from a tick, but would not see him until Monday morning! :sad2: I was devastated and flipping out and so was DF (he is usually the calm one). I could not wait until the next day, so we drove 110 mi to the nearest 24/7 vet. It turned out all that was wrong w/ my dog was a broken tail, so he did not want to move his hind legs. Lots of pain pills and 2 weeks later, my baby was back to normal!

I know this is killing you, but try not to think of the worst! Try to find a 24/7 vet if you cannot wait until tomorrow. Please keep us updated w/ the status of your dog. Until then, I send many prayers and pixiedust pixiedust:

Hang in there sweetie!

I hope all goes well. We know that pets are family too! Good Luck!!

Hi hun,
Hope all goes well with the appointment. I'll cross my fingers and say a prayer

Hi :sunny: I don't usually visit this board (as I am already married ... but I do like to admire those of you who do marry at WDW!!). Anyways ... hugs to you about your doggie. I know that she is a furbaby and she is is loved to pieces. My dog, that I grew up with, he finally had to be put down last April and he was almost 14!!!!!!!!! (He was a bouvier / lab mix, so for a big dog that is OLD!!). Anyways .... he had what they called "fatty tumours" ... not tumours as in cancer, but just lumps that were basically fat. He had them in his neck area and his tummy. The older he got, the more he got, but they never went away and were nothing dangerous!! They felt like little balls too, of varying sizes. So I wouldn't get all worked up ... I bet she is just fine :) I hope all goes well tomorrow ... I'll be thinking of you :wave2:

Thanks guys I leave for the vet in another 4 hours then i will be able to see what is wrong with her. I will write about it after finding out what the vet says- He is one of the best in our area and is always so busy. Just to get her in for her shots it took me booking her out 2 months ahead of time. So glad they keep openings for emergencies and always have someone on call 24/7. I know she will be in the best of hands. There are not a lot of vets around where I live that I trust but I definately trust this vet. He is into teaching people about their animals. Last time we were in for her shots he gave me the stephascope and let me listen to her heart, then his techs brought in some x-rays and he taught me and showed me what they were about. It is really neat to have someone who is interested in teaching the owner of their pets about new things.

princessblueeyzes what type of dog do you have?

lumps are actually pretty common in certain breeds, like our boxer. best of luck.

Hi just back from a 4 hour visit at the vet's office and he told me the lump is probably due to her vaccination that she had done on May 2, He told me to keep an eye on it as it is inflamed, and if it gets bigger that I need to call.

Thanks everyone for all your support. I really appreciate it.
