We are coming on 10 years and would love to get away for 4-6 days. We are in PA...so a short travel flight would be nice...we would like to go April-June ...somewhere warm and relaxing with a fun nightlife...not that we often can stay up past ten! But it would be fun to feel young again! A beach would be nice but not necessary..LOL Any ideas...also...we do have some Marriot points? We also want a champange trip on a beer budget! So I thought what better place to post than here! We actually thought about disney...but that we'll be next year with the kids!

How about Bermuda? We went there for our 10 year for 4 days and it was great!

We live near Baltimore, and my DH and I two years ago went to Peter Island (British Virgin Islands) for 5 nights. It was the first time we've ever flown away from our kids - for our 40th birthdays. I paid a great friend to take care of the kids (no, my folks and in-laws are not interested in doing that, go figure after all I do for them).

It has no nightlife, which is fine for us. It is a sort of private island. Although they were fully booked, we hardly ever saw anyone. We snorkeled, sailed, kayaked, hung out on a totally deserted beach (they bring you lunch), and relaxed. It was the most relaxing time we've ever had! The meals are included, but it's not an "all inclusive". You do pay for drinks (but we bought a bottle of vodka in San Juan, plus champagne which we really didn't need!). It's an older crowd, or many honeymooners. Very quiet, peaceful, pretty. My DH ran and worked out, and I read two novels. It's definitely a beach place, and after living in Hawaii we knew that meant it wasn't "fussy" - the rooms are in A-frame buildings, 2 up and 2 down (unless you are in the more expensive beach front suites).

Definitely - we do recommend it! You have to stop in San Juan and change planes to Tortola, then take their ferry (they give you a nice cold beer!). So it is a long-ish trip to get there, but it is so nice.

We just did Napa Valley/Sonoma and San Francisco for 4 days. It was great. Not a short plane trip for you, but you could use your points. Also, staying in Sonoma vs. Napa will save lots of money.

We went:thumbsup2 to Atlantis in the Bahamas for our 10th and it was incredible! beach, sun, nightlife, relaxing, shopping, eating...everything we wanted!

For a couples trip I would highly recommend a Sandals resort. The ones in Montego Bay are close to the airport and more "lively" than some of the others. Sandals Royal Caribbean is my favorite in Montego Bay. Great Thai restaurant on the offshore private island. Flying time from PHL to montego bay just about 3 1/2 hours nonstop.
Best part...........virtually EVERYTHING is included in the price of your package, great for keeping within a budget. Even scuba is included!

Another option would be Punta Cana. Excellence Punta Cana would be a great choice.

Disney of course, we did this in September for the first time without the kids, it was our 9th anniversary and it was fantastic.....so much more relaxing than I expected, my kids are park commandos I swear and we just took it easy and relaxed alot at typhoon lagoon too! 8 days of bliss for us, we were kids again ourselves for a bit!:goodvibes

I know you said short flight but we went to Aruba for our 10 year anniversary. Very relaxing and fun! With the travel industry hurting you may be able to snag a good deal! We went for 5 nights. Then for our 15 year we went to Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos islands. Very relaxing but really not much night life. This island tends to be more expensive than others too.

I would say Bermuda. Cruise from NY or NJ. They offer 5 nights. The price is good. No flight involved. Beautiful place.

We also live in PA and just celebrated 10 years this past summer. We celebrated at the Ceasers Pocono Resorts. It's all inclusive and has some great rooms (think champagne glass hot tub and your own private pool and sauna in your room) and activities. We highly recommend it to friends since you can "resort hop" (they call it key around) to enjoy the amenities of all the resorts. If you need a referral, send me a PM and I'd be glad to give you a 10% off referral coupon.

Oooo... May is considered low season in Mexico, so you can score some super cheap vacation packages to an all-inclusive resort. The weather has always been perfect in May for us, and because it's low season, the great deals abound.

Good Luck, and Congratulations on 10 wonderful years!

We took a cruise to the Bahamas out of NYC for our 10th - it was great! It took 20 minutes to get to our vacation!

Book it has great deals to warm places, Travelzoo is another site with great Travel deals. Lots to Mexico with all inclusive type resorts. Another thought is Las Vegas, great night life and warm.

I vote Bermuda cruise out of NY. We've been to almost every Caribbean island (cruising) and Bermuda is better than any of them!

We did the carnival cruise from Tampa last May for our 10. We pricelined a hotel for the night before, flew out Wed, cruised Thur - Monday. It was so reasonable compared to our Disney trips, very relaxing! We ended up in Grand Cayman not Cozumel due to swine flu but it was still fun.

Lots of great suggestions here! I'll just add the USVI in the mix. We honeymooned on St. John (fly to St. Thomas and ferry over) and it was wonderful, very laid back and beautiful place. As a PP said, the BVI are great too (Tortola, Peter Island, Virgin Gorda).

As for Marriott points, check their website or call and see if they have any specials. Marriott points have kinda gone down the tube, it takes alot to get free nights. We switched to Starwood as they have more properties in places we like to go.

Best of luck planning, and congrats on the anniversary!

Oh, and if you cruise out of NYC, you could add a night in the City too!!

We went to WDW on our honeymoon and I'm thinking a trip there for our anniversary would be just the ticket. :) You're right, it's a totally different experience without the kids. We love it all! :goodvibes

I'm going to 2nd the recommendation for Sandals... For our 10 year we went to Montego Bay for our 2nd honeymoon. Airfare was outrageously affordable and the fact that it was all inclusive made it all worthwhile! No looking at any prices for any meals, drinks, activities or tips!!! We spent 4 days and wished we would have stayed longer. We'll definitally be going back in a few years!

Have fun and congratulations on your anniversary!

St. John is absolutely breathtaking! It was even prettier than Hawaii.
