Last year I went to a remarkable retreat in Orangeville called Womynspirit Festival [WSF]. http://www.womynspirit.ca/main.html It was AWESOME! Beautiful natural setting of rolling hills, trees and artists landscapes. It was sooooo relaxing!
This year, I am coordinating the registrations and helping organize the workshops. I feel WSF will be a part of my life forever. I have pictures on my FACEBOOK. Search Sandra Glover Clarke.
This year, my 14-year old daughter, Emily is coming to the retreat with me. It's a female friendly, bonding, peaceful, self-spiritual, nature, creative retreat. It's filled with mothers, daughters, grandmothers, granddaughters, sisters, wives, girlfriends, aunts, nieces and friends.
Last year, I went alone and had a great time. I arrived about 5pm to a small group of ladies doing crafts in the main living room. I drank tea and laughed with them while exchanging introductions. I picked my bedroom and re-joined the growing group in the dinning hall. The meals are incredible!
We all met again in the events hall for a fun and enlightening ceremony detailing what the weekend was all about. Basically, it's all about whatever you want it to be. Nature, bonding, solitary, retreat, education, anything!
The next morning we ate MORE yummy food at breakfast, then signed up for workshops. There were four morning workshops and four afternoon workshops. I was facilitating an afternoon workshop about Tarot, so they allowed me first pick of morning workshops to attend. I chose not to attend any morning workshops, instead, I walked the grounds taking pictures, enjoying the changing of the Autumn leaves and took a walking meditation in the labyrinth. WOW, that was awesome!
We had lunch and then I did the Tarot workhsop. I loved meeting new people!
Dinner, and then the Saturday ceremony. It was a nature-type ritual celebrating the changing of the seasons. All workshops and ceremonies are optional. You can pick and chose whatever you want to do.
Lots of people brought musical intruments and played incredible music after the ceremony. I might bring my harp or drums this year.
There was even a drumming meditation in the labyrinth under the full moon. Very cool!
After another great sleep, we had breakfast, more fun, crafts, a little marketplace in the livingroom for crafters to sell there beautiful work all during the weekend. And then we starting winding down the weekend after lunch.
It's was such a beautiful experince that I offered to help with registrations and workshops this year. It's a family friendly, open-minded retreat for women. There are children's programs too, the kids had a great time!
I hope you consider joining us this year. Please also pass this email to your friends and family.
Blessings, Sandra
