We have hired movers to pack and move. There's two days between packing day and moving day. So, what should we leave unpacked for that interval? Part of me wants to get nearly everything packed, except for bare survival stuff (coffee maker, minimal kitchen stuff, paper plates, bedding, towels, minimal toiletries) and have a carry on bag for each of us, plus a box for our critical supplies that we will pack on moving day.

Is there something I should do differently? Anything else I should do?

one word (i guess it's two) TOILET PAPER!! Take it from someone who forgot to leave that accessible

When we moved, the packers were kind enough to leave some assembled boxes (and tape) for us to pack on moving day with the stuff we wanted to use (bedding, towels, etc.) They should also leave boxes for your mattresses. I would recommend keeping everything you don't want packed in one room off to the side, as it will be less confusing for the packers.

We had our carryon luggage, toiletries, bedding, towels, and cleaning supplies. You want the cleaning stuff to be the last on / first off.

Good Luck!
