Hi-

I won tickets to Marineland and we (me, dh, ds7 and dd5) will be heading there for a single day sometime in the next month. Some questions for anyone who knows....

- I have read that you can bring food and drink. Does anyone know if wheeled-coolers are restricted? If not - Anyone know if the locker rentals are convenient and/or not too pricey? We enjoy packing our own food and would love to do this - but don't plan on having a stroller or anything (this is 'practice' for my 5 year old for WDW in the Fall).

-Thoughts on which rides to hit first? I know dd won't be tall enough for all of them (ds is 49 inches and she is about 45), but she should be OK with the rest of the rides plus the shows.

-Back to the walking thing... I've heard that there is a lot of space between attractions - but how far are things? How big is the park? Can you compare it to a WDW park (or part of one)?

TIA!

I've never been to Marineland before but will likely go this year with the kids. I suggest you ask this in the Canadian Trip Planning board. I suspect you will get many more responses there. Have fun!

We've been there with our DD. There are not a lot of rides by any means, but it was a nice place to visit. There are shows, and they are entertaining. Just don't expect them to be on par with Sea World. We did enjoy our time there (DH fed Beluga whales which he really liked) and we would go back. But it's not like Sea World... far less rides and the shows aren't as great. The attractions are very spaced out and laid out funny. When we went it was raining all day so the long walks felt even longer. Enjoy your day trip, my DD really enjoyed it and still remembers seeing Shamoo (she was only 2 at the time).

It's a big park, and honestly, my kids enjoyed the Chicago Aquarium much more than MarineLand.

I am a season pass holder at marinland due to it beiing 15 minutes from home.

You can bring in a wheeled cooler and there are nice shady or sunny picinic areas. You can also leave a big cooler in the car and just bring in drinks and snacks. There is a picinice area in the parking lot too. It would take maybey 10 minutes to walk out to the car and if you park by the picinic area it is right there.

They do have lockers but I am not sure what they cost.

The added 4 rides last year. They are kiddie rides but they are more than kiddie rides lol Kind of in between a kiddie ride and an adult ride.

There are bears to feed and they charge 2 or 3 dollars for an ice cream cone filled with corn pops to feed the bears (not good for the bears i know)
we bring our own.

Also fish to feed same brice for a cone filled with dog food....we also bring our own.

Same goes for the deer cone filled with rabbit feed.....bring our own.

any other questions feel free to pm me and I can give you my email.

not a lot of rules at marineladnd

you can feed/pet the beluga whales for $8.00 as well. that you have to pay for lol no getting around it.

we had a lot of fun there when we visited. My Kids can't wait to go back.
