Call me a sheep for blindly following you two (man, I hope you don't get me in trouble) but I pulled the closet trick this weekend. DH & I decided to go shopping yesterday and since the wee one (DS4,not DH :hyper: ) fell asleep Dh decided to wait in the van while I went in.

I grabbed some goodies for me! I rushed them upstairs into my computer/scrapbook room really really fast after we got home. He has no idea. When he does get a clue, which he won't because this room is MINE, I'll just say what? this stuff? you don't remember when I bought this? where were you? :teeth:

Welcome aboard Michelle!!!!
After 20 years of marriage it is the only way...now granted I unlike him never do it with really large purchases.

One year DH bought a sofa and 2 chairs that I thought were hideous and we lived with them for 3 years almost!

You Go Girl!

Welcome to the "Oh honey I've had that for ages!" club. You make us so proud!

You ladies make me laugh. This is exactly what my MOM taught right after I got married. I can buy some clothes, keep them in my closet for a couple weeks and then wear them. DH "might" ask about them (most of the time doesn't notice) and I just say I've have them for a while. Never questions any more. I can do this with most things, scrapping stuff (that's how I got my Sizzix).

I do the same thing. Although my favorite thing is to tell DH "Don't you remember? you were with me when I got that! how could you forget?" lol::yes::

I'm so glad I could make you proud of me! I feel as if I've grown, I've managed a rite of passage ... now I'm a good wife!!

I'd never make a big purchase without asking (or whining for that matter) but I did buy scrapbook stuff!

WDWMom - I only wish I was brave enough to sneak a Sizzix purchase. ::yes:: I would love to have one but at $100.00 or so I'm just too scared to try that. :scared1:

Michelle, listen to me carefully, DO NOT start off with a biggie like that. Unless you have a great poker face you'll blow your cover. Start with something small like a new purse, shoes or a sweater and work your way up! Pacing yourself and gaining confidence is the key to success! ::yes::

I don't do scrapbooking, but I do quilt (or attempt to when I'm not pg and sick). I've have snuck much fabric into the house. There was a big discussion on it a few months back on the Joann's quilting board (sneaking in fabric that is). I'm lucky in that DH knows the quilting keeps me out of "trouble" and it's my only hobby, so he doesn't mind when I spend some money on the fabric. I try to be "good" and haven't bought much in months (because I was too sick to care). Now I have to get back to making stuff with all that fabric.

And I will admit to buying a messenger-style bag on clearance at Old Navy last week for $3.97. Didn't know when I'd use it, but at that price....Guess what?! I ended up sticking all my WDW/Trip info in it, and carried it in the car on the trip down. Not perfect, but much smaller than the bag I probably would have brought.

Belle,

It does take a while to work up to the big stuff. I've been married 15 years and this is the biggest purchase I've snuck in. I bought the Sizzix at 50% off and then just bought the dies one at a time with 40 or 50% coupons. I bought it back in June and DH just noticed about a month ago. I told him I'd had it for a while. Oh well, what is he going to do about it now???

Oh I wouldn't dare sneak a Sizzix! What I snuck in was 3 sheets of stickers ($7.83 plus tax) and a Cropper Hopper Photo Case ($16.00 plus tax, on clearance because it had a small crack in it).

And I have a terrible poker face. I try so hard not to laugh when I'm trying to be sneaky that it backfires and I end up with a case of the giggles.

You know, we better hope our DHs don't read the Dis boards or we're all in big trouble!!:earseek:
