Bob, the location for your wedding looks stunning! I don't remember it looking so beautiful (I think I was blinded by Harry Potter mania and travel sickness:rotfl2: ) This is a stressful time for both you and your mum. The people who you love will want to share your special day and those who don't aren't really important anyway. Just chill out and enjoy the anticipation:hug:

I start my training for the ambulance service on Monday & I really don't want to. My parents are getting on my nerves. I only applied for the job to get them off my back, I wrote a really bad application but I still got an interview. My mum has been having a go at me for being in a bad mood etc. When I try to explain they won't listen.

It has taken 18 months to get this far with the job, it has been poor from the start.

The annoying thing is I went to college & uni but this job is not using any of those qualifications. I feel I wasted 4 years & got into student debt for nothing:sad1:

Oh dear Bob, that wasn't very constructive of your mum :grouphug: for you, your plans sound amazing so far!

Tricky one Nikki, if your hearts not in it, will you enjoy it?

Don't you love parents!

I've been not doing uni work and making montages of Lotties photos at DLRP!

I know one thing you can't choose your family! I really don't think I will enjoy it. I will have an 80 mile round trip just to go to & from work which will include shifts as I have not been posted near my home, I can't afford to move out just yet. If only I can win a little bit of money on the lottery I would follow my dream then:thumbsup2

Thanks Emma:goodvibes

Hello,

Firstly I feel like I know you as I have seen your photos when you kindly do restaurant reviews!!!!

I was going to say what a gorgeous ring, then saw the church and thought what a lovely church then came the location, menu, dresses and invite etc!!!!!

It is all gorgeous and you will have a great day.

I think it will be a case of having to turn people away rather than people not turning up ..... it looks heaven.

I do not think you have any worries on that part at all.

Thank you for sharing your wedding plans with me, I do love a good wedding and cannot wait for further updates.

OK, I am officially jealous of all these stunning wedding reception locations, I want to get married all over again!! Oh well, maybe I can do a vow renewal at WDW for our 25th anniversary (only 15 more years to go!!) We seem to celebrate our anniversaries every 5 years on a Disney property as it is!! I did see Robbie Williams on my wedding day though, he was staying in the hotel we had our reception in and he wished us good luck!

Bob, I'm sure people who matter will turn up and you will have a fab day.

Higgs Nikki, what did you study at uni? My degree has nothing to do with what I do now either (I have a degree in contemporary music, bet you guys didn't think that of me!!)

That's a lot of travelling, especially if you do back to back shifts. Do they have facilities that you can stop over? We have staff accommodation at work that those who travel far can book and stop over if they do back to back shifts. Whereabouts will you be working? Some areas have keyworker housing schemes that allow you to buy or rent cheaper than normal.

Wow - I would be doing this :dance3: if Robbie Williams appeared - you should've invited him to stay and perform lol!

DH is having a really tough time at work at the moment and he has some major meetings to go to on Friday so cant come with me to my grans funeral :sad1:

Sorry to hear that :sad1: Am guessing there is no way he can rejig his day at work :grouphug: for you

Huggs to you too as well Jackie.

I wouldn't mind not doing a job in the area I qualified in which was Sports Therapy, health & Fitness. The job i'm doing with the ambulance service doesn't even need A' levels let alone a degree, so whilst I will always have my degree I feel that i'm wasting it on this job

My ambulance station is apparently going to be somewhere in Folkstone, I will qualify for key worker housing but I don't want to live in Folkstone, no offence to anyone who does.

The shifts probably won't be back to back but they are a minimum of 12 hours, if we are called out in the last couple of minutes of the shift we have to take it. They don't have any facilities to stay over.

Sorry to hear that Jackie:hug: maybe he can get a little bit of time off just for the funeral or would it be too far to travel?

No its to far - a 90 minute journey each way. I understand he cant - it was really a joint decision. I have no one to pick the kids up from school neither so he is getting off work early to pick them up.

My mum is giving me a hard time about it as they wanted him to take a chord so it has turned into a drama :confused3

:grouphug: Try not to let your Mum get to you.
