We have only one week left until my family of 4 leaves our home in Las Vegas to visit the world for two full weeks. We are meeting my in-laws at the airport, who are flying in from VA, and taking ME to the Boardwalk while DH rents a car from the airport so that we can go to SOG to buy tickets for my in-laws and run by a grocery store for chow before returing the car at the Dolphin (or Swan, can't remember which) the next morning. We will be in a two bedroom for the first week and then when my in-laws depart we will be switching to a 1 bedroom.

So, we will have a car for 1 day. DD is 3 and DS is 1, so we will be bringing our double stroller. I am trying to come up with a good list of things to bring and I need your help! What are some of your long DVC trip packing essentials?

TIA!!:goodvibes

I know I'm no help for your question, but I wanted to give you a tip. If your 2br and 1br are the same category (Boardwalk View/Standard View/etc.) have the CM see if you can stay in the 1br portion when your family leaves. That way you won't have to pack up and check out. Since all 2brs at the BWV are lock-offs they are made up of a Studio and a 1br. We've been able to simply vacate the Studio portion and close the connecting door, staying in the 1br. It isn't always possible, but it never hurts to ask!

Have a great trip!

Thanks for the great tip! We will be sure to ask. Is it something we can call ahead about, or are those things pretty much handled when you check in?

Thanks!

Heidi

I don't think they'll be able to help you at Member Services, but you could call the resort directly about 3 days before your arrival date. At that point your reservation will be in their system and they may be able to set it up for you.

As a mom to two young ones (4 and 17months) here are some child essentials: Lovies, their own blanket, a night light, snacks, 1 outfit per day (make use of the washer and dryer since you will be there 2 weeks and save room!) Buy diapers when you arrive, only pack what you will need to travel, infants tylenol/motrin whichever you use - teething happens at the worst times!!! Kid size utensils (my baby is very independent and I prefer those take and toss size to the plastic version you get at restaurants, sunscreen, potty seat (if needed), swimmies or pool seat for both, sippy cups, hats and sunglasses. If I think of more I will let you know!!!

You'll also need more laundry detergent and dryer sheets. Salt and pepper if you're planning to cook. Some people pack small amounts of spices in ziplocks if they're making spaghetti or chili.
