I put this on the rewards board...but the answer I got from the disney store...was weird...

Can I use Disney Gift Cards for Disney Dollars?

The answer that I got from the Disney store was she was 95% sure the transaction would go thru...anyone else know the answer?

it would make sense that you could though - they are almost like one and the same really - I would just try it!
