We leave on Monday for kennywood. We r going to the park on tues.
Can anyone tell me where the best place to eat is in the park? How expensive r the meals?

We will be there on Tuesday as well for our school picnic. (Weather permitting)

There is a sit down pavilion with a few options (chicken fingers, meatloaf, mac & cheese, spaghetti, etc) In my opinion its very expensive and just not that great. It cost us $28 for DD11 & I to get 2 chicken tender meals with drinks. We dont usually eat there, but it was cold and rainy & we just wanted a warm place to sit.

I recommend just getting some potato patch fries, corn dogs, & funnel cakes right outside the Thunderbolt by the stage.

We went to kennywood yesterday. I agree, the restaurant is overpriced and the food was not very good. I think the meals were around $8.99. The best thing to do is take a cooler with food, leave it at one of the pavilions on a picnic table... there are several throughout the park. We left our stuff there all day and no one bothered it, and it looked like a lot of others do the same.

I was there a few weeks ago and had the most delicious hamburger and the fries were pretty good too. I think we were in the carousel food court.

There is another potato patch over in "lost kennywood".
Which is over by the swings, and swingshot. The PP over there serves chicken fingers with the fries. Best fries and good chicken too.

The burgers the pp mentioned are good also. I also would not recommend the sit down restaurant or going to the McDonald's across the street.

Thanks for the responses. We won't be eating at McDonald's. We're not fans. We will try getting snacks and eat at a restaurant outside on way back to hotel.

You should try the potato patch fries and the ice cream at the place next to kiddie land. They are both legendary for kennywood. What hotel will u be staying at?

I concur to Potato Patch fries! Don't do the sit down place in the park, it's expensive.

Have fun and enjoy! My kids are finally old enough that we can go this year and enjoy all the rides. I haven't felt like taking them because I knew we wouldn't get a lot of rides done and would be in Kiddieland all day.

I can't wait to share this tradition with my kids! We went quite a few times every summer growing up and I can't wait to share the memories with my kids. :)

I'm surprised that no one mentioned the funnel cakes, with fresh strawberries, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream. They are fantastic and HUGE. Easily enough to feed 2 adults, and they're around $6.

Potato Patch fries are delicious. Just don't ride the Aero 360 until you digest them.

Love the Potato Patch fries. It's my first stop when we arrive. I usually get a lemonade and fried Oreos too. I'll be there in July.

If possible, pack some food to take in with you so you can eat the foods you enjoy at one of the pavillions. We did the sit down place for dinner and it was overpriced and not good at all.

We always pack a picnic lunch and just buy snacks. For us, potato patch fries and a funnel cake are our top priorities. My sister always gets fried oreos.

We take sandwiches and drinks in a cooler, and usually some cut up fruit and potato chips.

Agreed, Potato Patch fries are really the only must do food item at Kennywood. Great old park with good wooden coasters though!
