Hi :)

Just bought a Wii for Christmas!!!! :cool1: We thought it would be a nice family gift that we can all use (I want to unpack it now!! ... LOL)

Anyways ... what do you recommend for girls who are 5 and 7 years of age? We have heard good things about Mario Kart, so will likely pick it up as it is on sale right now. We did get Wii play with the bundle, so there is an extra remote ... this is good right? Do I need anymore remotes?

My girls love music, dance, Disney, princesses, girlie stuff ... but also sports as they both play hockey ... so need some good games. I'd like to gradually p/u some games b/w now and Christmas so there will be a nice selection.

Any ideas are really appreciated :)

Thanks so much ...
Kerri

First, you are going to LOVE it. I had to be convinced by DH and I am so glad I was. It is great family fun. I have 3 girls, 14, 9 and 6. Their favorite is Sports (the one it comes with) they also like Wii Play and Carnival games. I got DDR for the oldest and while she loves it, turns out the others do as well. I think it may be their favorite along with Sports (and DH and I like it too-- fun and good exercise!).
Enjoy, I know you will...

I second the Carnvial Games and Dance Dance Revolution vote. We just had a Wii bday party for my son yesterday where we borrowed three Wii's from friends and had four set up.

We had Carnival Games, DDR, Mario Kart, and Wii Fit and the kids LOVED it! All of those games were a hit with the kids. The DDR we actually borrowed from a friend but I am sure we will be purchasing it soon as me and my daughter 9 both loved it!

Another fun game is Monkeyballs...my kids love it. It has lots of different games to play on it. My daughter loves the jump rope game on it the most.

Another Carnival game and Dance Dance Revolution vote.:thumbsup2 Both are big hits with my kids.
Mario Kart is fun. My daughter has a Disney Princess game that she loves, I can't remember the name of it though. We picked up a Barbie game for her for this Xmas last week. Also, a Littlest Pet Shop game.

We got our Wii two Xmas's ago when it first came out. It is still played with daily. It is so much fun!

Mario Kart and Carnival Games are must haves! And I'm a Guitar Hero addict. On my Christmas list is The Price is Right, Think Fast Disney trivia (at least I think that's what it is called), and possibly DDR.

We got one last xmas and it was the same way for us. The games we have are mario kart, hannah montana, cooking mama, boogie, & playground. I know we have more but I just don't know the names off hand these I know b/c these are the she/we play the most.

I highly recommend Animal Crossing:City Folk. It comes out in November (the 16th, I think, though the date has changed a couple of times). There were versions available for the Gamecube as well as the DS and this one looks even better than those.

Also, check out the Wii FAQ thread on the budget board. It has lots of great game reviews and recommendations as well as other tips.

Which of these suggestions would be best for a just-turned 5 y.o.? My sister just got a Wii today and wants to get a couple of games that my dd can play when she is over there. Thanks.

My DD6 loved Hannah Montana world tour! We haven't bought it, just rented it, and she played for hours.
We also have the Disney's Enchanted Princess, but it too complex for the kids. They need a grown up to play it with them or they just keep getting stuck. I wouldn't recommend it, unless you want to play it with them.

We have 2 of them my kids all love the Mario games .The Raving Rabbids also are great they have 2 of them and a new one comng soon they are so funny.Lego Indiana Jones is a good game .Enjoy it is great.:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

My DD is 5.5. Last weekend we got Samba de Amigo. This game is great. She loves it, we all do.

I will say DD's favorite games are Mario Kart, Samba de Amigo, Carnival games. We bought the High School Musical Sing It last year, not too much interest. Finally, the Disney Princess Adventure game, my DD loves the game, but it is hard to use both the controller and nanchuck. I have to play with her and help often.

This Christmas will bring Guitar Hero, Pets from the Littlest Pet Shop, and a Nintendo DS with a few games. (DD is the youngest of 3)

Hope this helps! Enjoy.

Has anyone tried the new "Outdoor Adventure" game? I just bought it for my boys for their bdays, so we haven't given it to them yet. It looks fun. It comes with a mat, and it has games like log jumping, kayaking... outdoor stuff. I can't wait to try it. Any reviews on it?

I was wondering the same thing. Anyone?:confused3

Good morning, I was wondering if anyone has tried the wii ski? I got it for my 5year old son and 7 year old daughter> Thanks:happytv:

OP - I have two dds 5 and 7 also. We are getting a Wii this Christmas. A game that I bought that looked really fun and wasn't too pricey ($30 on sale on amazon) was "Order Up". It's kind of like cooking Mama, but you are a chef at a restaurant and as your "food" gets better you work your way into being a chef at nicer establishments. I got the Disney Princess game because it was $20 and I'm thinking about BoomBlox. We already have Mario Kart for our gamecube, but if we didn't, I'd buy it for the Wii. I'm considering two other games "Disney Sing It" and "Disney Think Fast" which both come out this week or next.

I wanted to mention that last year when we bought the games they were on sale at toysrus for by two or three and get one free, well they were pretty much out everything we ended up going to best buy and they matched the sale so we got everything we wanted.

It is soooo much fun!! My 2 kids ages 7 & 9 both love it, not to mention it is fun for my DH and I too. To me it is like a Wii Fit for kids. The games are fun, but you are really getting a good workout while playing.:thumbsup2

Don't forget...you can play your gamecube games on your Wii!! I love that, since we have so many gamecube games already!!
